OGS is a terrible manager. Two extremely average midfielders in Fred and McTominay sitting in front of the defence, Sancho on the bench and he seems to have completely ruined Mason Greenwood, who a couple of seasons back I thought was just about the most promising young English player in the Premier League.

OGS started off quite well in the job results wise and had a lot of goodwill from the fans. Now it isn't going so well and I would imagine the fans are restless.

Some of the # threads on Twitter were an absolute hoot. Full of plastics from whatever part of the globe you fancy of course.

I find it quite sickening when he tries to talk as though he is Ferguson/Wenger combined into one. Still I don't want him sacked he needs to continue doing the good job he is doing.

They'll never achieve anything with a manager who so profoundly buys into their myth. Long may he remain there.

They are one, maybe two (if Brighton win tomorrow, really really hope they do) points off the top of the table. Only they could whinge. And how long before we see in a gossip column ‘United chase McGinn and Martinez’. Because their response to being bossed by players is, rather than see how to improve their players by coaching in order to cope with said players, is to try and buy them. Or at least has been since late Ferguson era.

Maybe bringing in Ronaldo wasn't the smartest move.

I didn't watch MOTD, but seen a report where it seems Shearer can't tell the difference between standing in front of the keeper blocking his view and hence interfering (where was that rule against Sterling a few seasons ago), and standing to the left of him as the ball sails into his well to the right.

Maybe bringing in Ronaldo wasn't the smartest move.

I think it was Oliver Holt as one of the only doubting voices on Ronny returning as he pointed out their problems last season were not scoring, but was in fact stopping other teams scoring. So Chris wasn't really helpful apart from pretty much throwing all the long term plans for this season out of whack.

No, I think Shearer was clear in that he felt it was a good goal. Like the manyoo manager, he called out the inconsistency when comparing to a Leicester goal or something recently, but unlike the manyoo manager he believes both goals should've stood. His reasoning behind why one was given and the other not was that they came down to, effectively, umpire's call. Similar events, one the assistant flagged at the time, ours didn't.

The team did not look balanced last season, now they are trying to force Ronaldo and Pogba into the starting 11.
Long may it continue.

But he is still stating they are the same apart from the Linesman's flag. If the ball has gone anywhere near Ollie, then yes they would have been similar. However as he wasn't between the ball and the keepers eyesight, then he wasn't interfering when he could have been judged as offside.

Some surprises from yesterday;
The result
The fact that our goal was allowed (even though it should have been)
Old Trafford sounded like ‘being in church’, maybe the tourists and the prawn sandwich brigade have finally taken over?
Fernandez came across as an even bigger ****** than Ronaldo.
We didn’t get an injury

Some predictable stuff;
Mike Dean was a ******
Further to that, they got a last min penalty which was debateable
Slab head was a cheating dirty bastard
Their ‘manager’ was full of bullshit about the decisions in his interview

Pleasing observations
Our team really looks like a ‘team’ the most hard working well organised I’ve seen us for many years and with plenty of talent to boot. Our manager appears to be continuing to grow.
They looked like what they are, a bunch of egotistical individuals that really didn’t seem to like each other too much and the usually grinning fuckers Ole and Ronaldo looked pretty miserable right from the off. Hopefully there’s a lot of issues in that squad.

That picture is misleading anyway, the 2D image makes it look like Watkins is right on top of him. From the near post angle, you can see that he is quite clearly unimpeded at the moment Hause heads the ball.

What a crap stadium Old Trafford is by the way. OK it's huge, but it feels old and outdated and not in a historic way. Plus having no big screens in the stadium is really small time. Only good thing about it is it's much easier to get away from than Villa Park. An hour after the final whistle yesterday I was on the M6 going past Stoke. Leaving VP I'd be lucky to be on the Expressway by then.

Were you in the away end Risso or did you have to sit on your hands? I’ve seen a few Villa fans on Twitter posting pics from various parts of the ground, including one bloke who went full on nuts after the goal or the penalty, with people around him just staring - luckily for him.

I haven’t been to Old Trafford since 1990 but remember it being impressive back then.

That’s over 30 years ago Pat. Man U fans, one of their numerous complaints is actually legitimate, in that their stadium hasn’t been invested in or updated. And has fallen behind many of the modern stadia across Europe. Despite all of their success in that time and the billions in revenue they’ve generated. And despite being fucking shit for a good number of those same years, Villa Park still looks superb.
