Best thing about The Big Match is when Brian Moore reads out a viewer's letter and gives out their full address.

have we ever won on Big Match Re-visited?

Fed up of seeing the Orient league game (promotion year) and the 1980 cup 1/4 against spanners
The League Champions 80-81 season is available to watch, including Leicester away and Forest at home.

There's an American history podcast I listen too where they look at old newspapers, and they can never get over how they would print the names and adresses of everyone, all the time, and it seems like it wasn't until the 1970's that someone thought it maybe wasn't such a great idea.

Just seen a 1-1 draw away to Arsenal in November 1984 on the Big Match Match Revisited which I've not seen since then, and with Paul Birch giving us the lead; they showed the celebrating Villa fans of which there wasn't many, such were the times of dwindling attendances.

I was there that day.
ITV were covering the game and in trying to find my way to the visitor's end I just walked through all the chaos of the TV equipment and staff and didn't have to pay to get in.
Yes, Paul Birch (RIP) put us in front that day and I think Paul Mariner scored for them.

Thank you. Thats the first time I’ve seen the full highlights.

Greenwood there and still barely capped Villa players.

Interesting to see the obstruction given against the Everton defender. That would improve the game so much if brought back!

Enjoyed that, hadn’t seen it to this extent for some time. What a brilliant player Gary Shaw was.

I didn't realise just how good he was when I saw him.

Des Bremner reckoned Shaw had the best first touch of any player he ever saw. He could pass a good ball (see Rotterdam '82) and was the best penalty-box finisher I've ever seen.

I was at that game. Always remembered for the brilliant Tony Morley goal but it was the type of gritty team performance that wins league titles. And as you say, Gary Shaw was sublime.  The pitch was awful by today's standards and Shaw's classy technique shone through. No wonder the England national team was  so poor at that time, when the likes of Shaw and Mortimer were constantly overlooked.

Watching videos of Gary Shaw recently I began to think his control and technique would fit perfectly into an Unai Emery side.
