Actually I don't think Jolllyyyon was there at the time.  Too busy fist pumping goals for whichever team he played for in front of the Holte.

It's Gabby.

The Big Noise was on about it again last week, how he faced Keane down because he was asking players to do too much. Boasting about it, the big tit.

Embarrassing from the club captain.

Not that I have a whole heap of time for Keane either.

Were Karsa and Culverhouse still there at that time (dismissed for bad attitudes themselves) or was Keane a partial-replacement for them?

Any teenage Villa fan now who started following us in the mid 2010's you have my utmost respect. You were cheering a bunch of fcuking parasites throughout your childhood.

Sure many football supporters didn't like Keane, but when comes to professionalism he was at the top of the league, bet he wanted to sort a few outside after working hours

Keanes full of bluster and self importance a lot of the time (i still actually quite like him), but whatever, we all saw what he’s talking about ourselves and we’ll all know its true.
Ive said before a long while ago probably on the Gabby thread, that a mate of mines son, used to play kids Sunday football with one of Gabbys kids. Said Gabby was a nice enough bloke, quiet but friendly also provided football boots for all the kids without any fuss. So theres always two sides. However, he is embarrassing on Talksport, daft kid playing up to the class. How he can tell those ‘bantz’ stories about a time his club were circling the drain and stinking the place out, is at best bemusing. Anything for a quick buck and bit regular publicity.

My 17 year old son who has missed 2 away games all season ( I get the blame for this from Wife & his Mom 😆) I said to him after Newcastle away, you have and still watch some shit, but when he came back from Brighton he was buzzing. I wish I was young again UTV

You can say what you like about Keane but this sort of fits in with the way things were perceived by a lot of fans at the time.

Roy Keane on his time coaching at Aston Villa.
Keane has said that some of the players he coached when he was at the club were 'imposters' and 'scumbags.'

The former Manchester United captain told the Overlap Live that some players had a poor attitude and 'didn't train properly' or 'speak to staff properly.'

The Sky Sports pundit, 50, did not identify any of the players, but he unfavourably compared the attitude of some of the Villa squad members to his former teammates at Old Trafford.

"We had a brilliant dressing-room at Manchester United, and you assume it’s the same everywhere, it’s not," Keane said during a live edition of The Overlap in Manchester.

"It’s only when you go to another club and see so-called professional footballers. 'Imposters' I call them.

roy keane punditry

"I went to coach at Aston Villa. Honestly, there were players at the club like scumbags. They would have been scumbags on a building site," he continued.

"They didn't train properly. They didn’t speak to staff properly. Then you wonder why they don't win anything, because they’ve people like you in the dressing-room.

"The strange this is, you turn up on time and train properly and they think there's something wrong with you. No, you're supposed to train like it's the last training session you'll ever have. They're like, 'Nah, not for me'. P***k."

Sorry but this “two sides” things with players totally winds me up. The fact that he bought boots for his kids team and was a “nice bloke”is totally irrelevant. He should have doing his day job properly and not dragging us into the gutter with his ridiculous antics. Absolute waste of space

Keane may not be perfect but what was he trying to do? Install professionalism in a dressing room full of the biggest wasters our club has ever seen, some of which are earning fortunes now as media pundits because of their 'expertise'. He's worth a hundred Agbonlahors.

If you read the whole post i wasn’t defending him and called him out for his embarrassing stories on the radio and agree he was a fundamental part of that whole shambles for 4 or 5 years. Two sides as a human being was all i was saying. Ultimately he wasn’t professional, he was a part of dragging the club down for a while, he doesn’t do himself any favours with his media stuff, but lets not mix that up with him being some awful human being, as none of us know that. There’s plenty of evidence for awful human beings at the moment, and in the context of whats going on in the world, its not some over paid former footballer.

I did read your post and of course, your right, in context with current events football is nothing. My point is that he made a mockery of our club with his ridiculous antics and got paid a kings ransom for doing it. The fact that he may be a nice bloke or indeed a awful bloke is totally irrelevant. He couldn’t be bothered to do his day job properly when people like you and I were paying for the privilege of watching him. It makes me cringe to listen to him on talksport

It's certainly Gabby and one other.

I keep thinking Delph has retired and then you see him randomly starting a game for Everton every six months.

All of Hutton, Joe Cole (for ITV last night), Given and Darren Bent have done media work since they retired so all contenders.

Would still say Cleverley as would imagine Keane wasn't a big fan of him playing in his old position at Man. United and probably less of a fan watching him close up in training.

Edit: Just read his latest comments, I imagine the "that's why they don't win anything" jibe was Keane having a chuckle watching us stink out the cup final six months after he left. Massively disappointing considering how well we did v Liverpool, summed up that era very well.
