After reaching a cup final a few of your best players leave while younger players replace them. So nothing like 2015.

At least then we had the consolation of correctly-coloured sleeves.

A coach has left. We'd have preferred him to stay, but he didn't want to. Oh well.

We’ve replaced Pako haven’t we? Don’t see Rodri replacement and McPhee is going to be replaced by Crouch.

Of course I could be reading too much into this, but didnt Arsenal win the league with their set piece coach last season?

Came up with the genius tactic of fouling the keeper and getting away with it.

Real shame - mostly because it could strengthen a competitor.

Exciting and Anxiety inducing summer this - feels like it could be defining.

If we have not developed junior McPhee by now then we are a poor organisation. In any case all his tricks are now widely known so right time to replace him.

Apparently we tried to get Angus Lennie before Austin came.

I reckon a 21 year old sports science graduate with a load of enthusiasm, spreadsheets and who’s completed Football Manager - could devise routines that would work.  Not saying he wasn’t a success but he was a coach first and foremost - not a set piece specialist - so was likely to take an offer that paid more.

We are having a clearout.

It was inevitable. If you don't evolve you wither and fade away.

We've got top dollar for a player who contributed on average a goal and an assist every four games.

We've lost two others due to activated contract clauses, but probably taken £12 - 15m off the annual wage bill in the process.

And we've started the process of replacing them.

It would have been nice to keep together the team that brought us our first silverware in thirty years, but the truth is the core has been together a long time.

If we want the Europa League win to be the start of the success rather than the summit then change needed to happen.

There old glass half full versus half empty.

I’ve no idea what’s going on, just praying it’s not typical Villa.

Typical Villa like finishing in Europe every season, CL football, winning a trophy?

We haven't, he's chosen to leave.
