Mate told me a few weeks back that had some sort of clause that had been met by another club. I ignored it because it sounded weird a coach having clauses. But to be fair he was spot on.

For me and nothing against the man, more towards the twat at Arsenal. But this is a modern day overhyped role in my opinion. Some of the general media and pundits make out no one scored from a corner or freekick before a "set piece coach" was manufactured from nothing. Put the ball in the mixer onto someone's bonce who isn't afraid to smash his face to bits and you'll probably score some goals. I bet David Beckham or Martin Laursen never had a set piece coach in their careers.

I'm probably in the camp that good club management oversees a change in the coaching set-up to freshen things up.  As has been said previously, Ferguson had a number of significant changes in his set up without any decline in the level of attainment.   No reason why Emery shouldn't do similarly.

There's something in that, but I'm of the view that renewal is a good thing. Emery is hopefully battening down for a new push; new players, a change to the coaching staff and - wham, bam!

They had a couple of decent set pieces in the World Cup.

It feels like Unai has an opportunity to rebuild an ageing, inherited squad which will also rejuvenate him.
I’m excited about this summer.

There’s no point being anything other than that.  It’s what summers are for and the 15 minutes before kick off.  We are invincible during these phases in my head.

I’d argue that’s an over simplistic comparison. There’s a lot of turnover and that is about it.
