The sweet set piece goal scored by Onana from a free kick was my favourite of the season.

But why don’t we try wonderful corners like the one Tieleman scored against Young Boys anymore?
Seems to be a case of grinding the opposition down.
However that's a good opportunity then to fool them and switch it to a ball to edge of the box like you say with such a set piece of Tielemans goal. That too was wonderful.

Goals that are scored from second/third "phases" of set-pieces ie Onana against Wham, do they count as set-piece goals?

That was a good goal and there's been a couple of others so they must practice set pieces on the training ground. What's baffling is games like the Monaco one where we had 7 corners and everyone went either near post for an easy clearance as there was no villa player to challenge or it was floated over for an easy catch for the keeper. There was no attempt at a set piece "routine" in 90 minutes.

That's true, certainly to my layman's eye.  They were just floated in as you say.  We seem to do more intricate stuff when McGinn plays unless I imagine it.

Against West Ham Bailey was fouled , a free kick awarded.
Digne took the free kick and shot directly over the bar into the holte, however there was a gathering of players in conference beforehand, discussing the set piece. Decisions were taking an eternity.

McPheee was up of his seat from the gesticulating and shouting. However, it ended up being a direct shot.
I believe only Arsenal takes longer on average to take a set piece.

Another situation where we missed another opportunity - it was with a corner when West Ham was down to ten on the pitch, and it took another eternity when Kilman was taken off the pitch, he was in position for the corner, but Tielemans took his time and took it short. By all means, keep it short, but greater urgency was needed there, since Emery has asked players to use their five senses it didn't seem to show up in these occasions.

However only Arsenal having scored more so have to still keep the context of how well overall are set pieces have been.

McPhee will be running his hands in glee with Asensio and Rashford two excellent free kick takers.
Rashford takes a mean direct free kick as well.
These two will add further strings to the bow.

From Scotland to Portugal is a bit of a downgrade, as CDBF will confirm.

A bit out the blue, but then I didn't realise he had left Scotland last year. Has he been sent there to tap up Felix?

Yes. Just part-time like he was for Scotland.

So, he's not using the international breaks to work on designing set pieces then?...

What's the point? None of the players who take them will be at the training ground.

Rashford only has one free kick goal in his career.  Something to work on there over the break.
