Re All this on-off will he won't he sign, Bailey to Hull business.

They're just about to spend:
£17m Herrington 18 defender from Colorado Rapids
£17m Cho 22 fwd from Nice
£8.5m Hjerto-Dahl 20 fwd Tromso

£42.5m on kids. But I'm guessing they'll be paud buttons and have sell-on potential.

So why won't they stump up £10-12m for Bailey?

The £xm question!
Think wages might be the problem?

We need to sell him, there's no point in him staying from a fans point of view, can understand it if he wants to stay and keep cashing his cheque.

I think it's clear he doesn't want to go to Hull. I mean, would you?

Bench warmer for a Champions League side earning more money for a season or, a relegation fight.

Personally, I'd be in the "fuck that" camp.

There's a great aquarium down at the dockside.  And on stormy nights, some say you can hear Philip Larkin fussing and moaning about being dead.

That should get Leon excited.

I quite like Larkin.

I don’t mind Hull, either. I’ve generally gotten lucky every time I’ve stayed there.

Plus the Blue Lamp, if it's still there. Recall seeing The Roots there circa 1994, before fame descended. And the Welly. Pork Recordings. Oh, and pangalactic gargleblasters.

The best student nightclub in Hull of the 90s was Spiders. With your reference to the Gargleblasters I believe you're referencing the same venue.

The Welly was way better! But yes, Spiders for the gargleblasters.

Deja Vu @ The Room. It was odd though, first time I went it felt like I'd been before.

Deja Vu @ The Room was a very good night out too. Used to enjoy Pork's Prime Cuts down at the Blue Lamp of a Friday night as well.

He's apparently on 120k per week and they're offering 40k. So doesn't look promising.
