He would get a warm reception from me on his return to VP

a couple of great seasons surrounded by a few "meh" ones

Never disrespected the club

Yup I like Leon, played a key role at times and seems a decent chap.

He's a few notches ahead of Tres for me in the cult figure stakes. Def belongs in that sort of conversation with Tres, Franz Carr and dare I say Bert.

You can focus on the weaknesses and failings of that quartet, sure. But that's a shite way to live.

I was really excited when we signed him. His goal against Everton only increased that! He was also absolutely brilliant for 12 months under Unai and one of my favourite Villa wingers ever at that point. However, it’s been punctuated with large periods of injury and average form. I’ve never q got the vitriol he’s got but when he’s poor, he doesn’t even try to take his man on. He’ll def go with my good wishes and I’ll hope he does well for them

I think he is brilliant. Just watch the deft way he played that ball to Barkley after receiving the pass from Cash for our second goal against.  mancity. Hull are very lucky if they can snatch him away from us.

A definite coup for 'ull if they can close the deal: they have a fine history of playing wingers!

I think he'll do OK at Hull. At least he'll be playing every week and has the chance to get some consistency in his game. That is of course, if he can avoid injuries.

They don't take cash or card at the Humber Bridge any longer. He'll have to pay online or come across on the M62/A62.

It is quite close, but there may be a bit of rain later which should help.

A player I was willing to hit form again - Unbelievable how hot and cold his performances were. Bums off seats when on form, but sadly not often enough. The Everton goal, the 'come on, we still have time' moment against Lille, and the Emirates demolition job will live long in the memory.

No ill will to Leon, hope he recovers his form and confidence. Seems a lovely lad, so it's all the best from me.

Will miss his song too - A banger when it gets going!
