He's been unlucky with injuries and that's been a large part of why he hasn't been able to put too many consistent runs of form together for us. He scored some pretty vital goals in the first season and a half of the Emerevolution, including in wins against twats like Man U, Man City and Arsenal off the top of my head and I'll remember him with fondness if he does leave. Won't be devastated if we see him in a Villa shirt again, either.

Good luck to him. Probably needs a change of scenery.

I saw a comment on the last page saying he was crap. I don't agree with that but, he has definitely struggled to recapture any sort of form from the season before last.

Open to the sale? Yeah, while trying to hold a poker face and not burst out laughing.

A confidence player who is lacking confidence and has been for about a year.  A move is definitely good for all concerned in this instance.

I forgot all about his Dad hogging the limelight when he joined. Seems to have matured into a fine midlife man during the 2020s. Be more like Craig Butler #self-improvement #GetAMoveOnLeon #RomeIsCalling #WheresMyCut?

He was carrying an injury the end of the previous season and has never seemed to recover from it, physically or mentally.

That’s true, it’s funny how the mind forgets! His leg was quite often heavily strapped. I do think it’s a confidence thing.

He's always been brittle, physically and mentally. It's kind of hard to fathom as his career progression demonstrated huge resilience, from a young kid all the way through. At his best, he was a key player in our CL qualifying team, starting or from the bench. Brilliant goal and cameo at Arsenal the highlight. But Emery long ran out of patience with him last season.

The highlight for me was that second-half spell against Everton at home in 2021.

Yep, I was convinced we had a world class player that night, amazing performance.

Hope it goes through, I think it's best for him and more importantly, for us.

Nah, that was a clue to the Bailey from October to around March in Emery’s second season. He made Happy Feet look slow. He was wonderful.

And yet he’s played more, scored more and assisted more than Jacob Ramsey in the last 3 seasons.
