He's happy to stay!

Nothing to do with Bailey, but what an abomination Twitter is these days. Look at all those absolutely nonsensical replies from Blue Tick bots clogging up the tweet.

"Why don't they sign cristiano and bring him to Europe"
"Poch sacked yet"
"Happy birthday CR7"
"Thought Windows is closed"
"Happy Birthday Ronaldo"
"Looking forward to the deal" x 7.

Well played, Elon. Not a single reply from a genuine Villa fan anywhere near the top.

It is utter, utter garbage now.

I think that is just the algorithm for you because you are always searching for pictures of ladyboys on your laptop. All my top replies are all people commenting on the news (for better or worse depending on team support) with the top one a KKH fan account asking of any Mbappe to Villa news.

Yes, there are quite a few Villa replies on mine as well. I follow/engage with a fair few Villa fan accounts, even though most of them seem to be pricks. Always slagging off ‘the fan base’.

Oh God, all those years of watching Lee Hendrie have made me suspicious that a player's form will turn to shit the second he signs a new deal.

or you can look at new contracts and impact on performances for Emi, McGinn, Doug, Ollie, Konsa etc.

We'll be very happy if he can play two full games in a week with the same convincing performances he's shown of late.

If he'd have had more game time we'd be talking about player of the season.  As it stands it's hard to look too far beyond Luiz, but happily this time there is a lot more competition, Leon, McGinn, Konsa, Ollie, Martinez... What a happy time to be a Villa fan.

Anyone else tried blocking all those blue tick wankers on Twitter? I must have blocked hundreds and I haven’t witnessed an improvement yet!

Anyway good news if he signs the contract. His dad said it was a great contract and that he would decide whether to sign or leave to a bigger team (he’s a lovable chap 😂)

Yes, there are of course still lots of Villa fans on there, but the point is that if you pay for a blue tick, then your posts appear before people who haven't. Then when you have somebody like that Romano bloke with 20m followers who gets lots of replies to his posts, the top replies are all from blue tick spammers (quite often 'tipsters', and religious nutters from Nigeria etc) who appear ages before normal posters. Quite often they'll post something completely unrelated, or just "good".

It's an horrific environment now. I am only on it really to see the headline from more reputable sources of information. You can no longer really debate or dialogue without paying and even then it's a disaster with unrelated posts.

John Percy analysis:
Unpredictable Bailey inspired by competition for Villa place
Bailey arrived at Villa Park from the Bundesliga with a glowing reputation but injuries and a lack of consistency have unquestionably held him back.

Even last month, after the home defeat by Newcastle, Villa coach Emery admitted that Bailey can be “sometimes successful, sometimes less” when named in the starting XI.
The signing of Moussa Diaby in the summer could have placed uncertainty over Bailey’s future, but he has stepped up this season to prove himself indispensable.

He can be unpredictable, but his speed and direct running makes him a nightmare to defend against. Bailey is also two-footed, which appeals to Emery as he can play in a number of positions across the front three.

Emery still believes there is still more to come from the 26-year-old, with Villa hunting down a place in next season’s Champions League.
If Bailey can continue to produce his numbers, and steer clear of those frustrating injuries, he can take his game up another level.

Whilst Bailey may be able to play in many positions he only really appears wide right, I think he'd be interesting in a deep lying striker position.  It would enable him to go either way and make overlapping runs for Watkins.  CBs would be leaving trails of poop with those 2 running straight at them.

Not for me, it's a nightmare. It's always the blue tickers first and they're almost always just dickheads posting memes. I don't go looking for anything so the algorithm has little to go on. #bustymilkmaids
