I was perfectly willing to criticise him when he was "off it", so I am more than happy to heap praise on him for sticking in there, working on his game and improving so much, beyond my expectations!
And obviously, enormous credit to SUE for sticking with him too and helping him become a much more complete player than I ever thought....his defensive contributions have increased enormously too.
Now, when he gets the ball, I'm off my seat!

Thought today was close to his best game for Villa. Didn't give them a second's rest and scored a belter.

It took a deflection similar to his goal against The Cheats. But fair do's for having the crack and playing it off the defender to fool the keeper as it must now be planned.

Totally agree Frank - I was really not convinced but he stepped in when Buendia got injured and also responded to Diaby signing and ensuing competition.

Well done Bailes - keep it up.

He's in great form but we'll have a bit less of that, thank you very much!

The one distinct difference between now and this time last year is the confidence he has with the ball at his feet. Running at speed, taking in defenders. Confidence is such a key ingredient for wingers (and goalkeepers). Almost has as much impact on performance as their actual ability. Good to see!

To be fair, he is a baller, you’ve got to admit?

I was hoping for the best for ages, then eventually came to the conclusion that this league just wasn’t for him. So happy to be wrong.

Such a productive player at the moment.  Hope we can get him to sign a new contract.

Any idea what he is in now?  The BBC gossip column suggesting we will make him one of our best paid players, so guessing about £100k week.

Obviously Solanke should (and will) win it, but seems odd they couldn't find room for Bailey in the eight nominees.
