Have to persevere with Bailey.
I have my doubts he'll ever cut it at this level. Keep waiting for this pace he's famous for

We don't play him into space and hardly ever get him into an advantageous position because we have to wait for Cash to overlap for this system to "work".

We saw his pace vs Everton last season. Maybe the injury means he's lost a bit, or it might be this dog shit system doesn't ever give him any space to attack.

We do not knock it over the top for him as we are so damn narrow under this manager.  Very frustrating.

I dont think we're narrow in the way insinuated. You'll notice at a number of junctures in games where we have 3 players stacked in a line wide, with no runners committing the opposition to spaces centrally. We invariably vacate the middle to go wide, but fail to overload, as we don't move in any particular pattern to create underlaps for example and if we do overlap, it's always, always a £30m winger or 10, passing it to a full back.

You mean a disorganised rabble running out of ideas all chasing after the ball??

No, it's very deliberate.

How I miss the days of our winger El Ghazi passing it back to Targett. The Golden Years.

Deliberate that they force wide and use the full back as the fulcrum. The patterns are there in every game. That's not coincidence. I don't think it works, but I also don't think it's a rabble either, it's a designed system that's failing.

As Keowngoal said today he doesn't know of another team in Europe that sets up the way we do when we have two strikers on the pitch.

Had this feeling for a while, I havn't noticed him outpacing defenders.

There are glimpses and he has great balance when running with the ball, he just doesn’t seem brace enough to try to go past players.
I think he is scared of getting hurt. Maybe a hangover from his injuries.

I agree with this analysis. The pattern of play as been consistent and SG has convinced himself that it will come good.

And that it's the players who aren't doing their jobs properly...
