I thought he was bright today. Yes he was on the fringes but so was Buendia for large spells yet our best player revolved around them.

Yep. Good players can be found in the championship, certainly ones that would improve us. Yet our recruitment is by and large poor.

Look also at how much talent has come over from Portugal in recent years and generally adapted quickly and been good signings. Yet they've all passed us by.

Gerrard isn't the only one we should be questioning.

No.His spatial awareness is shocking.He gave the ball away more than once,and he's knocked off the ball far,far too easily.

This is a good point. We always seem to pay big £ for players who then fail to perform. Ings, Buendia, Bailey, Traore, Coutinho, Digne, Wesley. Conversely we never seem to pay peanuts for players who come good like some other clubs, such as Wolves / West Ham etc
