Could delays be due to getting a work permit?

No.

Indeed. I suspect as others have suggested he’s only recently finished up competitive football for the season, so he needs a break.

Dean Smith said "We're very good at driving transitions anyway but I've always been a bigger believer that pace scares defenders, and Bailey's got that in abundance. He brings more pace into the team, it gives us different options. On top of that, he's a really good footballer. You don't survive in the Bundesliga unless you're a really good player."

Not great, but on the plus side is he's unlikely to have lost too much match fitness?  I didn't even expect him in the country till next week, which would have given him just over three weeks off.

Didn't the Bundesliga finish early May? So he actually had a good month off before joining up with Jamaica for Gold cup so had a longer break than anyone playing at the euros.

Same here. It certainly beats 'Greasy' or 'Rat Boy' for imagination and humour.

Aye. Another ‘upvote’ on this. On googling, the first statue photo that appeared also looked suitably twisted.
Another H&V classics lesson 👍🏼

All Villa, No Filler podcast from an hour ago, they speak to German Football Expert, DW reporter and Leverkusen fan Max Merrill to find out more about what Villa fans and Dean Smith can expect from their new man. Sounds like if he grabs this opportunity like Benteke did when he came and appreciates it for the step it could be, he could be a star.
