I see the women aren’t averse to being stuffed by Bert Millichip too.

It is hard work watching Villa ladies under this Carla Ward They are so boring and weak .They hardly ever score which is no surprise really as we never have a shot and the match plan seems to be keep the score down  We are lucky that Small Heath who managed to give Leicester their first ever win today are in the same league and will keep us up

It seems that progress is being defined as being the best of the 4 no hopers and coming 9th or 10th.

It looks to me like the league and women's football in general needs a bit of a rethink in terms of structure. You've got 3 to 4 good teams in the WSL, and the England team winning 20-0 the other week. That says to me it's not been organised properly, and they're trying to do too much, too quickly, when the product doesn't really match the marketing.

The women seem to be on the TSM step of their journey. I'm hoping that taking a shit defensive manager from the rabble over the road isn't followed by the run of poor appointments we had, if we can go directly to a Smith or Gerrard style appointment it'd be a nice timesaver.

The womens game in general is following the pattern of the men in that a 'big club' can throw money at it and get the best players from Britain and abroad.  Hence why Man U, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea are towards the top.  Its a vanity project between them to mirror the mens league.  If we were serious, we could plough £5m in and get some top players but what would the return on investment be?  A few trophies maybe but still a few thousand at Bescot.

Further down the pyramid you have the Stourbridge women's team regularly trumpeting their successes (they win a cup match 20-0 last Sunday. What they never mention is that they're the only club at their level who pay their players.
