Not too worried about the result, although always nicer to win them.

Looks to me like the club have taken the opportunity in pre-season to see if 1. We need another striker (or Wesley can step up), and 2. We need to replace Engels (or one of the youngsters can fill in as 4th choice).

The answer to 1. is an emphatic no. Wesley has been bloody awful, and now has added a stupid red card to the blots on his copybook. Does he get a three match ban in pre-season? If so thats all chance of having him match fit pissed away. Idiot.

The answer to 2. Is less clear. I really like the look of Bogarde, and Revan did ok today too. Not sure I'd trust either witha long run in the team if we had injuries, but for the odd game maybe they could step up.

Wasn't the best of performances, but thought Watkins, Young, Buendia, Ramsey, El Ghazi and Cash all looked good. Steer had some pretty shaky moments, prefer Sinisalo on that showing.

Put Mings, Martinez and Grealish back in that team and we would have won comfortably, this is more about looking at the depth in the team.

It was nice to see the Naughty Forty turn up for Stoke yesterday and spread themselves out over three stands.

Good summary Ashton, that is exactly what pre-season is about.  Three match ban from the start of the season for Wesley.  Hope for some movement in the transfer market this week but Bailey is away with his country so that will have to wait.  I's like to see Carney Chuck get some minutes.

Absolutely livid.
Bought the 'Match Pass' and the Laptop nearly went flying when Wesley Attacked the Stoke City player, I don't think I've ever seen that in a friendly before. What was he thinking? Get a new striker and Goalkeeper for the Bench in immediately.  Worrying performance and a wake up call to the Board.

It's only a friendly.  Yes, Wes was stupid but we have loads of players to come back and had a load of kids involved.  Just under three weeks before we kick off properly.

Given you're "absolutely livid' and nearly smashed your laptop over a pre-season friendly I'm not sure it's Wesley's 'anger management' issues you should be concerned about.

Or what? You won’t come back?

Traore I think had a hernia op so will not be back hard training just yet so probably not ready for start of season.

Trez is reported as being long term (was this the injury in the last game of season?)

Sansom   have not seen anything on his injury - anyone know the severity or expected time out ?

I agree with most of that, although I thought Buendia and Young were poor.

Anyone enquiring about Villa’s injured players…just assume they’re out for the season is what I normally think. If it’s only a simple cold, they should be back in the new year but, don’t hold your breath.
Seriously, I read somewhere a while ago, when we signed Buendia, that we wanted to get our business done before we got back into pre season training. Seem like a long way off from that. We desperately need a couple of decent strikers and, Wesley is definitely not the answer. Get him out on loan ASAP or, better still, sell him on IF we can get any decent money for him.

Anybody know what's happening with tickets for the Seville game? I'm logged in bit it's not showing in the home matches. I think I qualify from 5pm today.
