Question his signing back on, but he proved me wrong against City

The thing is he's a born winner.  A backs to the wall battle where he didn't need to get forward much suited him down to the ground and he absolutely stood up to be counted.  He did what he was paid to do yesterday.  I'm not sure about him starting a few games on the bounce though, I'd prefer KKH against more defensive teams.

Missed the game as I was working.

Just seen a little 2 min clip on fb of his highlights from Saturday.

Wow. It was like 2010.

Superb goal tonight from Youngy versus Forest.Hes a super player.
His first goal for us in 11 years.
What a talent he is. Prompted me to state the fact. And post again.

Young along with Milner are the ultimate premier league professionals
And its good we have a player who sets the standard.
Club captain Young excelling again is great for all Villa followers who can recall his brilliance when he was here previously.
Martin O'Neil once called him "world class."
And class is unchangeable.

Welcome back, F-V. I know you've always been a big fan of Ashley Young. I was unconvinced about the need to bring him back but he has been excellent when called upon this season and that was a superb goal.

I know Ash pissed a few off when at Man Utd, but he was brilliant for us, gave us four-and-a-half seasons, left in a dignified way, and has given his all since coming back.

To still be playing at this level at his age is a reflection of his professionalism and commitment.

Apart from Olof, who was here already, I'd say Ash and Big John are my favourites from the O'Neill years. They both genuinely care about the club, in my opinion.

I think Ash is great.

Still a natural winner. I've fond memories of him and it's good to see he's still got a bit left in his legs yet. Shame he's part of this Gerrard shambles.

It feels like a bad dream but wasn’t he coming on as a central midfielder? Seemed a pointless signing at this point, but so glad he’s proved me wrong and shown his class. Obv should never have *****d off, but grateful for his professionalism and that winning mentality that obviously took him away from us..,

Love him but it's a sad indictment that our most effective player is, in footballing terms, a pensioner.

Now our second oldest scorer in the Premier League, behind Peter Schmeical.

He should only be a bit part player when needed.  Now, he's integral to the team.

Tbf he deserves to be an integral part of the team right now, injuries or not.

Our best player last night, but not difficult when you see what the rest served up.
He was the only one who was professional and also showed he wanted to compete and win.
The only other player that showed the same commitment was Ramsey.
