Keeping Elmo for another year would have been more effective.
Maybe we'll bring in Luke Young for that one.

Poor re-signing. Knew it at the time.

A stunning decision to bring him on and him giving the ball away by passing backwards when 25 yards from their goal, lead to the sending off.

Diabolical game management.

I never, ever want to see him in a Villa shirt again. Appalling.

He could not run in the 2nd half he was knackered - and he is a professional athlete!

Didnt have a problem if he was brought in for full back / wingback cover. His midfield days are way behind him. Each time he has played there we haven't

Wing back or a sub for last 10 minutes of matches.
Has to pay an Elmo role now
Back up to the full backs

Well I'm glad you've changed your mind from last week.

Always likely to look okay in Italy where the game is much slower in tempo.  Hopelessly exposed in this league and is a last ten minute calming substitute at best.  At full back.

Yep exactly.

I have to say I was gobsmacked when he came on to replace Ramsey.

Was smith playing in a position he doesnt play anymore.  Youngs a left back but only snith would give him a go in central midfield. Clueless manager

Er, wow, he was tremendous today. In midfield no less. Funny old world.
