Seems like a very canny signing if it happens. You would imagine at his age he will be accepting of a back-up role and with his obvious pedigree should push Cash and Targett on to higher performance levels. His contract should be short and most of all, he isn't Micah Richards. No brainer for me !

Sorry, can’t get excited about a player who was happy to dive and get a penalty against us whilst playing for Manure.

Really? That offsets all the good times he gave us and the fact he's kept his body and fitness up like a Milner? C'mon...
Cmon how many times have we been done by their dodgy penalty routine and he is part of that legacy so fuck him and them.

So, hypothetically, you'd turn down Fernandes on a free?
exactly

Well, okay. A bit crazy but each to their own.

I wouldn't want Fernandez playing for us. Good player but come on, there are limits...

I would not want any shithead from them as they would only see us as a step down. (before anyone says McGrath he was finished at United and we was at the time a step up)

All the footballing reasons  = a great bit of sensible business

Personal = As he left us for them - he is dead to me

This is exactly why football is like no other thing in life. I absolutely hate Fernandez and the way he whinges and moans and everything he does on the pitch BUT I’d love him to be playing for us.

I rate those 2 crosses for Gabby at the Sty or at Old Trafford or the 2 goals he scored against Small Heath when we battered them 5, slightly higher than a dive that one time in a game we got shovelled in anyway.

The goal at Everton remains one of my favourite Villa moments ever and I wasn't even there. Had been out for lunch with the missus and dived into The Village in Moseley for the last half an hour, the bar was full of gleeful noses texting their mates when Lescott scored, so they weren't watching when it went it, and me and the one other Villa fan in there sitting about 10ft away from us went mental.

The looks on their faces was priceless.

We detested terry before he moved here and we all really respect him for what he has done here.

No hard feelings from me and i will welcome young back with open arms. He was fantastic for us before

Yep, big welcome back from me, that Everton moment is easily in my top ten Villa moments, even with the traditional restricted bloody view 😅

It might be nice to sign someone who isn’t a reigning league champion, just for a change.

Should be an interesting interview. And a rare chance to compare two shirt stretch pictures for the same player, same club 15 years apart.

No. No, we don't.

Happy with Young though.
