John Percy is pretty reliable with his journalism. Looks highly likely he'll return to Villa Park. Apparently we've hijacked Burnley's deal to sign Young. Smart business in my opinion, he can cover a number of positions with his versatility. Also, he's very fit still and a great athlete. Can only be good as he can mentor the younger players with his experience.

Might have missed something, but I haven't seen anything from Percy on this...

I wonder what Neil Taylor, currently live on telly, thinks about this!

Ash was our star during his time here and has kept himself in great nick. It's an astute piece of business and a bit romantic. Love and money, what more do you need?

It's a pity we're not in Europe as he'd get a fair bit more game time. As it is, he'll struggle to get ahead of Matt Targett most most of the time.

His versatility will guarantee him game time, he won't just be covering left back even if that's his primary position.

True. Could come on at half time for one of our erratic wingers.

Sorry, can’t get excited about a player who was happy to dive and get a penalty against us whilst playing for Manure.

Yeah good move. We need cover at left back and Ash Young has experience in the European leagues which will hopefully come in very handy soon.

Yeah, he can play in enough positions that, whilst he might not be a regular in any one of them, he'll easy rack up 20-30 appearances.

Maybe with an eye on moving into coaching as well.

Really? That offsets all the good times he gave us and the fact he's kept his body and fitness up like a Milner? C'mon...

Interesting signing, obviously a very different version of Ashley Young to his last stint and hopefully a great addition to our squad adding a certain amount of experience which we definitely lack now.

Cmon how many times have we been done by their dodgy penalty routine and he is part of that legacy so fuck him and them.

Very happy if this comes off. The experience would be great
