Wonderful
Ashley Young is the first English outfield player to play 2,000+ minutes in a Premier League season while aged 37 or older since Teddy Sheringham in 2003-04 (2,217), the season in which Young made his league debut for Watford aged 18

Didn't expect him to play the full game today with Cash back so fair play.

All that stat's done has made me realise Teddy Shringham is 57. What?

Gnonto: "The defender who put me in the most difficulty was Ashley Young because he was annoying: he kept talking, making himself heard and getting inside my head."

Every defender will now do exactly the same.

What's great about Ash, apart from just how well he's played this season, is exactly that he is annoying, aggressive, vocal, unpleasant to play against.

Villa teams in the past have felt like a nice bunch of lads who knew their place but Ashley Young doesn't buy that at all.

I hope he can stick around for a while longer yet

I imagine the choice words were also spoken in Italian to help the young man understand.

Between Ash and the Emis we do have what can be described as a shithouse side to us now, and honestly I'm up for it.

I hate to admit it but all winning teams have that mentality - we have always complained about it and now we have to learn to play the game as well

Does that mean we need our players to not only learn Spanish but Italian, French, German etc etc?

They need to have something to do when they're not studying Unai's dossier and video clips on their direct opponents that week. Could be a good assignment for them over their summer holidays and pre-season.

We seem to have a few with that mentality now. Young, Martinez, Buendia, McGinn, Mings, Luiz.

I wonder if he's going to get a new deal and we're stuck with him for another year...

Sorry, I like Ash and Cash but I just think RB is an area we could significantly improve especially after seeing what Moreno can do on the opposite flank.

I wouldn't be surprised if we give him another extension. He's one of the seniors and has that winning mentality and professionalism that they want around the club and other players.

I'd expect that the plan will be to not have to rely on him like we have this season though.
