the young Leeds winger isn't having a bad game, and Young isn't having it all his own way.

We're at home but this game is being played almost entirely in our half.
The plan's currently working well - we're 1-0 up!

Very interesting Ashley Young interviewed on sky before the game against Leeds said there was a plan by Emery for him and his role.
As well as alluding to a specific game plan for the team.

Even bad managers have a plan.

Well it won't be exactly what we're expecting seemed to suggest.
And that plan before has Ash been to tuck in and have the left back get forward . May not see him get forward again but seems very promising that Emery is going to set it up to be able to win the match.

That’s been the plan every game. Right back makies a back three, left back pushes on.

Yep, on paper it's a 442 but the shape on the pitch is very different.

He’s quite easily our player of the season so far. He’s outstanding. I do worry we may need to rest him and even though Cash is very decent, he’s not got the brain, composure and positional sense like Young.

A weird match tonight. Buendia looked shit all night yet scored. Ashley Young hardly put a foot wrong but was at fault for their goal.

I agree, and I was one who thought it was a mistake in having him back.

I wish he were 10 years younger. What a season he’s having.

Tremendous player and what a great role model to have around the place for the younger players. Player of the season so far.

Helps create the mentality we need.

Terry did it when he came too. Whereas Richards was supposed to do it and did the fucking opposite.

If you're looking back at the great Villa players of the last 20 years he'd be in the conversation based on his first spell, but to come back at his age and play like he is, in a completely different role, and to show the dedication and professionalism through what's been quite a tumultuous time at the club puts him out on his own for me.

And we're still about £4m in credit from his transfers.

His pass out of defence for the first goal last night was outstanding but Sky have barely mentioned it. Too busy wanking over Gnonto, a player Young had in his pocket for most of the night.
