I see the Manure team flew from Manchester to Leicester because of M6 issues. Erm, there are multiple routes to Leicester which doesn’t touch the M6. Fucking aresholes.

The fact we lost to this outfit still grates.
agreed - it was pathetic

We were awful I agree, however it was the opening day after a really terrible pre-season and we played like we had just rocked up after a year out. One to forget.

Chelsea hanging on desperately at the end, thought Brentford were superb, so far they've been a credit to the Premier League.

I think Leeds fans might start muttering

They failed to invest and build over the summer, they have a team held together by 2 or 3 players, no sympathy whatsoever.

It's Leeds.

No sympathy ever.

So it's Steve Bruce's 1000th game as a manager today and almost certainly last game in charge Newcastle, but to reach that milestone is some achievement. In the list of managers to reach 1000 matches, Sir Alex leads the way with an amazing 2,155 matches, 2nd, which surprised me, is Graham Turner with 1659, for the younger H & V members, he was our manager from 1984-86. Warnock is 5th, Clough 8th, Robson 9th, Redknapp 10th. Other Villa managers to make the list Sir Graham 11th, the great George Ramsay 12th and Big Ron 28th. Ramsay never held the title of manager, but was in charge of the team from 1886-1926.

From the Beeb;
Just the goalkeepers out warming up at Goodison Park at the moment. Meanwhile, up at St James' Park I can report that every seat appears to have a flag stuck on it ready for the fan in question to wave. Nothing like a free little flag to get the locals on side.
Not sure if it's Bars, machine guns or a noose on the flags though!

That should do the trick, Geordies are known for their vexillophilia.
