Other Games - 2021/22
« on: June 16, 2021, 01:54:04 PM »
It's still last season in the National League

It's summer tournament time for international teams

However, it's also nearly time for season 2021/22 to start.

The Champions League qualifiers start next week

Quite. The preliminary round will be made-up of teams from Andorra, San Marino, Faroe Islands and Kosovo with the entrant from the lost city of Atlantis receiving a bye.

This thread this coming season will be fun as we will be laughing all the time at how inept other teams are.

Torquay’s keeper scores a 95th minute equaliser in the non-league play off final. Great stuff.

They've scrapped away goals in European competition. Good news, I reckon. It has always been bollocks that some goals arbitrarily count more than others. Nearly as stupid as the head to head nonsense in the Euros...

And in the League Cup, Small Heath get their traditional home draw against lower league dross. Colchester, this time.

It's a fairly dull draw with few Championship clubs away to minnows. Sky will undoubtedly choose to show Waynerooneysderby against Salford and spend the entire match wanking on about Man U.

Also a couple of local derbies in FGR v Bristol City, Bristol Rovers v Cheltenham and Coventry v Northampton in the Sixfields derby.

The Met will probably hope away fans won't be back for Millwall v Pompey.

Coventry haven't played at Sixfields for a while, they shared with Blues last year, now back at the Ricoh again.

Agreed on the away goals. Stupid rule.

Nailsworth v North Somerset City might be one that Sky go for. If only so they can bang on about vegan pies

Bristol Rovers v 'Nam Town are teams where I've been both a home fan and an away fan

Copa America final is on BBC tonight (1am kick off), worth a watch to see how Emi and Luiz get on. Could have Copa America, European Championship and Olympic winners at Villa by the time the season kicks off!
