It’s £102m as Boro apparently get £15m.

I’m doubly delighted as Middlesbrough getting £15m fcuks blues up a bit more.

Thought it was 20%?
Or maybe 20% up to £15m 🤷

Have we got a clear summary of who has now gone and how much we have recouped ?
I must admit to not being able to keep up with all of this.

Or capped at £15m. A few of the usual journalists are stating 20% of the fee (which would be around £23m to Middlesbrough), and a few are stating 15m (unsure whether this is capped at this number, or 20% of the profit).

Telegraph are saying £15m. My guess is that the 20% is capped somewhere. Maybe up to £100M fee so they get the 20% of £85M - either way we are seeing around 95-100M.

Either way, pretty sure neither Boro or Villa thought they’d be discussing a £117m transfer when the deal was struck.

That can’t be right. Arsenal fans told us with utter confidence that we had to accept maximum £80m for him. Surely, they couldn’t all be wrong?

If anyone gets a sore head trying to absorb all this SCR/FFP stuff, there's a much more basic and easier-to-follow analysis on most of the threads on SHA.

First of all it’s still making my teeth itch that the thread title hasn’t been changed to SCR as that is the PL and UEFA regime we’re now working under.

I’m very much of the view that our journey to 70% and compliance will not be short or easy. With regards to UEFA I think we’ll aim to gradually reduce season on season to show progress, we were at 78% (?) at the end of the FY25 figures having been well above 80% in FY24. Reduce that over the coming FY26 reporting period to less than 75% and there’s a chance we can get compliant in FY27 or 28. However I think that may be dependent on getting CL qualification again. I don’t think the club are the slightest bit worried about being censured and are happy to pay the fines as long as we stay the right side of the compliance committee and don’t run the risk of a European ban. Noises from the committee a couple of months back despite the fine were positive as they could see the progress.

I assume that as the PL are moving to an SCR system the rules are the same across the two compliance regimes? I’m already confused about the absolutely perverse PL regime which allows an 85% figure for non Euro qualified teams which means you’ll be immediately in breach if you then qualify for Europe. That’s just bizarre.

Sell-on clauses are nearly always a percentage of profit rather than a percentage of fee paid.

I believe the logic is the extra revenue from the European competition means the 85% becomes about 70% given the bigger income.  Probably stacks with CL money but will cause issues for teams qualifying for the Conference League.
