This gigs thing is a red herring for me, yes it helps Spurs but their real commercial and sponsorship income is where they dwarf ours, that’s the key to this not a few concerts.

This is true, but ours has almost quadrupled in four years, and doubled from 2024 to 2025. We’ve made a fortune out of the academy, and we’ve only just begun heavily investing in infrastructure. I think we can get closer to the Slimey 6 in revenue, and I also think that the 14th richest club in the world should be able to compete at sport with the 9th richest, especially when we’re all allowed the same number of players. Look at the league table.

Interesting. The size of the stadium will have minimal impact on the value of sponsorship deals. Keep winning and these deals should follow.

I can't argue with any of that.

I feel that the betting ban on FoS has come at the wrong time for Villa. I'm sure this will negatively impact on what we get for the next FoS. Even if it turns out the annual figure is more than the £20m p/s of the Betano deal, I'm sure with betting still permissible it would have been a bigger figure.

Not sure if the following figures are relevant, but a ratio of FoS & Sleeve & Kit to Total Commercial for the most recent period.

Villa 47% (£39m/£83m).
Newcastle 52% (£72.5m/£139m).
Arsenal 43% (£135m/£314m)
Liverpool 33% (£122m/£366m)
Man City 46% (£187.5m/£408m)
Man Utd 43% (£170m/£397m)
Spurs 30% (£100m/£330m).

I suppose our ratio is similar to others, however I'm surprised Liverpool's isn't a lower figure, and ditto for Man United, given their global appeal over many decades. I also thought Newcastle would be further ahead of us.

The figues are for 2024/25, so we were in the CL and Newcastle wasn't. That said, I'm not sure the prize money for CL was in with commercial in the Deloitte figures (my source).

In addition, Tottenham's new stadium, which can now host up to 30 non-football events a year at full capacity, is proving to be very beneficial.

At their old White Hart Lane ground, annual matchday revenue was £45m and commercial income - which includes concerts and NFL games - was £73m.

At the new stadium those figures were £126m and £277m, respectively, in 2024-25. The additional money coming into the club allows it to spend more under the SCR regime.

While the club has spent a lot of money this summer to date, transfer fees are amortised over the length of the contract, but limited to five years, so a £240m spend this summer equates to a £48m amortisation fee.

Tottenham's total revenue for 2024-25 was £565m. Under SCR rules they would be able to spend up to £480m a year on their squad.
