Shame for him that he didn't get a World Cup call. Good for us though.

I liked his celebration after JJ's goal on Sun.

Every goal he celebrated like it was one of us on the pitch

Maybe he should have a word with Watkins.

Another superb pass leading to the penalty to add to his collection for Emi.

And don't forget instead of wallowing in disappointment about the header on the post, he got up and pressed to force the rushed pass that Luiz intercepted and led to the second.

Probably sitting there a bit gutted about the Gerrard era and what he might have otherwise been up to this evening.

That Gerrard era put paid to a few World Cup ambitions.

At the start of Gerrard’s term we had a fair few internationals on duty. At the end we hardly had any.

Yep, there was all that emperor’s new clothes bullshit about Gerrard making the midfielders better players just by talking to them, or osmosis or something.

Buendia isn't consistent enough for us yet, and you'd struggle to argue that Argentina would be better had they left somebody out and included him.

He's not good enough for an automatic starting shirt for the Villa let alone the world champions

Yeah - it was a massive mistake that cost millions to the club and individuals ambitions
