I always preferred Argentina and Uruguay. Brazil always seemed a bit too pleased with themselves.

How do you fall from a stand at Wembley unless you are in the club circle may be?

I reckon i've seen 2 classic Brazilian frontlines, Romario, Bebeto and Rai/Mazinho in 94 and then Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho in 2002. Since then they've been a poor reflection of that and seeing players like Jesus and Richarlison wearing the shit is just sad.

Bolivia for me. High altitude games (I think), and the perfect half time pick me up, refreshment-wise!

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. I'm all for the diddy South American countries doing well. I just meant of the traditional big three, I always prefer Argentina and Uruguay with all their shithousery to Brazil with their "Beautiful Game" wank. Then again I used to cheer for the baddies when I was young enough to watch wrestling.

Three-nil is no disgrace for Venezuela. Given the format, they've still a chance of getting through if they get some of their players back.

Brazil will be through or virtually through with a couple of games to spare so hopefully our Doug will get a run out at some point.

I've never liked Brazil. Commentator's wank fodder. The 2014 semi-final against Germany is my favourite football memory that didn't involve Villa.

Brazil haven't been worth watching for decades. I'm old enough to remember the Pele squads and Mexico world cup. When Germany thrashed them I thought it'd been a long time coming.

I agree about Argentina and Uruguay. The Uruguay team with Forlan & Suarez were really good to watch. Forlan was at his best I thought and Suarez was unplayable at times. Hoped they'd win it that year, 2010.

Brazil go on like they're amazing, but they have about 200M people and only play 1 sport (volleyball doesn't count).

They should be bloody amazing!

Think Nike have got a lot to answer for with all the Brazil hype. You'd think they win every game 4-3, whereas in reality they're pretty functional with one or two flair players up front.

I think the Brazil stuff is outdated. Go back to when I was a lad and Socrates, Zico, Eder etc were on their pomp. They've had Ronaldinho and Ronaldo since but not a lot else. Football has moved on and nobody is willing to risk playing the way they did any more.

I think they just don't have the players to play the way they did, or they would. Or maybe it would be coached out of them nowadays on the gospel of pressing and tracking back. Not sure.
