The major positive of being on the bench is getting used to the occasion.  Getting to know the drill of matchday, hearing the seniors, understanding the way the squad interacts, how the coaches talk to the players.  When it's time to go they will know better how to react.  If the manager/staff believe they are nearly ready I'd rather that these players stayed with us at the moment and become a part of the team, even if their appearances are limited in the short term.  There's a lot for them to learn from our senior players and staff, and no bad habits from pros further down the leagues.

Not sure what this guy has to do to get a look. Performs pretty much every time he is on the pitch it seems. Two more last night…

Flits in and out of the action too much for me -almost invisible in the second half.

True but he could've had 4-5 goals on his own, he needs gametime at a better level really.

You could be right.

For me, the stand-out player in game after game is Tim Iregbunam. He just seems to find it too easy at this level, even though he's only eighteen!!

At this rate we are going to have a first team full of players whose names I will not be able to pronounce.

Great to see him get on Vs Man Utd in the cup.
I feel he should have come on ahead of El Ghazi
Maybe there is scope the next few matches for playing time considering player outgoings , suspensions, players not fully fit, Covid , AFCON.
Has an opportunity as he'll be around and pushing for playing time not going out of the club.

He's injured with a "tight pelvis", which is a new injury on me!

According to the Athletic he's off on loan to 8th placed Stoke for the rest of the season.
Seems a decent move where he'll hopefully get minutes and get them into the play-offs.

Good move that.  I know u23s is nothing like the Championship but the little I've seen of him he looks like he's something special so I hope he can step up to the task.

Oh for goodness sake.
He should be in and around the first team not sure why he's getting mixed chances in the championship out to loan
Things are really changing from pathways and progress .
JPB will be great in the Championship for all that matters but wondering Where's the point of him developed here and in first team squad having to take step back. Hopefully he be on contention next season.

Clearly this is to make room for a new signing.
Maybe thats exciting and as we've also loaned out AEG then Watkins as a wide as I think Coutinho will play in midfield like he did when he came on vs Man Utd.  So maybe its Suarez alternating with Ings makes sense though I'm not best pleased
