For someone who was defending Swinkels and Bogarde as "young players so don't be abusive to them"........

And I've been abusive how exactly to him genius?

Maybe you might want to look the word up in the dictionary son before teying to troll for effect like you usually try to do

How were people being abusive to Swinkels and Bogarde?

They were making exactly the same sort of comment you just made, but hey, it's ok for you.

He just made it up.  used the word 'abusive' whixh was not said in that context in the post he just trolling as he does.

He is waffling and making up things as he does. Ill call him out on his bullshit. Go look in the bogarde and swinkel threads if you dont believe me

I can't even decipher what you're babbling on about.

I dont think that he is a replacement for Diaby - I think there two seperate unrelated decisions that just happened to conincide.  I think it was a mistake to sell Dibay and not replace him.  I see Philogene a bit like the purchase of Dobbin, or Ned.  Its a talented young player who might be up to this the PL.

Yeah you cpuld be roght but he appears out of all the players we signed the closest to diaby. Just not anywhere near his level.

I said in summer when our business was done that selling diaby and not replacing him as well as not signing a right back are my biggest worries and so far from what ive seen this has grown even more

I think it was a purely financial decision (not replacing Diaby) as we sold him to ensure we didn’t fall foul on PSR. We do have a weakened squad in certain areas and have gambled on injured players returning and a couple of cheaper hopefuls. Jaden being one of them, he’ll be fine I’m sure (eventually)

I think i would have rather cashed in on cash mcginn and even youri before season started ( but now noway with youri as been good for us)

Just a massive shame. I really was gutted when we sold him

It wasn't a straight Diaby/Philogene swap. Rogers might not play the exact same position as Diaby but he became unexpected competition for a starting place soon after joining in Jan and at times kept him out of the team by the end of last season.

Diaby had a solid if unspectacular season, clearly wasn't settled, so all things considered, getting our money back on him and a small profit was a decent decision all round.

Far too early to judge Philogene. He needs a proper run and it's up to him now to impress enough as a sub to get a few starts ĵ

I dont think anyones played the diaby role behind watkins early last season as well as diaby so far.

Philogene has looked nervous to me in his few brief appearances. He needs to get over that, but it will need patience.

There was also the mysterious injury that kept him out of the Wycombe game, wonder if that is linked with the confidence issue?

On the plus side, he showed enough pre-season 23-24 to believe he can contribute, and seemed to be playing below his level last year at Hull.

Give him time.

The thing with Philogene ive noticed he is known for taking on players like how diaby did with his pace. But he isnt doing much of this at all. Not sure why.

We need that Philogene not the onw who is just falling over, backwards passing and losing the ball constantly . I do think the confidence might have legs to it. Shame he missed the wycombe game that would have been perfect for him

I'm so pleased he's being judged on the 43 minutes he's had on the pitch this season including 26 minutes yesterday, 1 minute against Everton and the 16 minutes he had against West Ham.

I mean that is surely plenty of time to show his worth as a player isn't it?

Yet in the same amount of minutes we saw alot more from diaby. People are just basing their opinion on what they have seen so far

Yeah, and it's worthless then isn't it? Basing your opinion on less than one half of football, played over three games is no time at all.

That's enough time for Jhon Duran to score about 5 goals!

If you stop thinking that Philogene is a direct replacement for Diaby you might be inclined to give Jaden a proper chance.

Ramsey, Rogers, Buendia and Philogene were all unavailable/not with us for large chunks of last season. Between them, I'm confident they'll compensate for Diaby and Zaniólo's input - which off the ball was pretty shite.

Of course i agree three games is not enough to judge but as of what we have seen so far its nowhere near the level we want. I mean rogers was excellent from the get go and you could see kids got something about him. Philogene hasnt shown anything yet. Just being honest.

He needs more games as you say to be fair to him.
