Selling him with the clauses we inserted, has proven to be a quite shrewd. His development has come on leaps and bounds in the last year, well worth the £8m or so we've paid for it (£5m sale to Hull, £13m purchase back from them).
It's alnosr like we've got grown-ups in charge who know what they're doing. I know it's all about England tonight but I couldn't be more excited for the start of the season.
I know, I genuinely think that soon - whether they'd this year or next or the year after - we're going to win the league. But unlike a Leicester type team, we'll just stay there, bothering the trophy engravers for years to come.

Great time to be a Villa supporter

It’s happening at a pretty good time also. Pep probably has a year or two left. Liverpool have a new manager. Man U are all over the place as are Chelsea. Arsenal will remain a constant at the top with Man City for as long as Pep stays. But we are well in with a shout of a title shot in the next few years and top 4-6 consistently as long as Emery is around.

Rumour going round that we are sacking Emery and Sir Gareth is replacing him, someone who knows about talented footballers

I said when he left last year, that the player he most reminded me of was Eberechi Eze, and that if the buy-back option was a good one, and dropping down a level means he has an Eze-style year or two in the Championship, then he could become a real asset to us in the premier league.  Jaden had 18 goals/assists last season, in just 32 games (he missed 6 weeks mid-season with a knee injury).  Which is a better return per game than Eze had at any point in his QPR career (including the standout season that saw him bought by Palace).

They both came up to the Premier league at 22.  I see no reason why Jaden can't go on to have a similar impact to Eze in the next year or two...  fingers crossed anyway!

I'm pleased also that he wanted to come back, rather than going elsewhere, which was clearly an option.

Has to be a good sign that he is happy to come back rather than looking elsewhere.
Looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.

I'm pleased also that he wanted to come back, rather than going elsewhere, which was clearly an option.

I have seen mentioned in a couple of places that he's having a release clause included based on appearances/minutes, so if he's not getting the required game time, he'll be allowed to leave for an agreed price (which I suspect would be be close to the £18m Ipswich were willing to pay).

Having not come through the traditional academy route, he does seem to have his head screwed on right, thinking about his long-term future rather than focussing on moves that get him to a Bentley the quickest.  That bodes well for him, I think.
