Yeah you can't scroll in this thread without seeing a stream of posts saying the club should force people out of their homes.

Shhhh! Don’t tell him about the pitchforks!

Villa "would you be interested in selling for 25k above market value?"

Local "why are you forcing me out of my home!!!"

Villa "we aren't, we're just asking if you'd be interested in selling at a good profit?"

Local "won't somebody think of the children. Oppressors!!!"

It’s a shame you can’t read and understand my original point properly.

The key words being ‘if they don’t want to’

I’m not sure if you still live with your mom or something, but if you think £25k over market value is some sort of huge cash windfall you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

I can read which is why I know no one has suggested forcing them out. And my mom died of cancer when I was young so nice one on being classy.

Did he mention what their reaction was?
Well it's along the lines "if we hold out how much will they offer" which is what anyone would do in the circumstances. My suggestion would be to buy a plot of land and build the 20 or so brand new houses and offer them those but I have to admit my knowledge on the legality and practicality of that is zero.

I don’t get the impression that view is common on H&V.

Loads of us have said on here that we'd hate the club to do what Liverpool did.

A bit of an overreaction there, heat must be getting to him.

Yes, that was my point. I thought you were saying the opposite view was common.

I was being sarcastic as it's very rare on here to see anyone suggest we should in any way make people give up their homes.

That’s not something I’d really expect on here, especially not from the regulars.

Ah, sorry.

It’s definitely a more widely-held view in other places than it is on here. People still have empathy on here, thankfully.

Liverpool were buying houses for over 20 years, and treating the local community like shit. They are the last club I want us to emulate when it comes to expanding capacity.

One of my posts about it from over two years ago.

Still fully agree, two years later.

Ideally there could be a compromise where everybody wins.
