The plastic that is used for this seating loses its properties as it ages. They wouldn’t be of much use long term. In contrast, the old Trinity stand seating made mainly of cast steel and wood was sold off and reused.

Apparently, according to plans on the Birmingham planning website, the NS lower tier will have 20 rows of seats. Anyone know what it was previously?
It seems to be about 15. Blew up an image and counted them. I must admit I expected it to be more. And yes, I should be able to find something better to do with my time.

You don’t have to justify it to me. I’m obsessed by this shit.

from the plans 5 extra rows seems about right as the majority of the changes were always in the upper tier. even just 5 rows is increasing by a 3rd and accounts for around 900 seats.

I wonder if we get less money from Adidas next season as their logo isn't in the seats? Not sure how much that is worth anyway, as usually it is covered up by people's bums.

I assume the old seats will be reused if possible, given to local non league clubs to help them out (we could give sha a head start on their ground) or they'll be disposed of.

I saw a photo somewhere of seats that someone had picked up from the ground and installed in their garden.

I suspect that whatever sheeting/tifo is put up in front of the North Stand construction will have plenty of advertising

I should think they will restore it by season opener as that will be prime advertising space given it will be empty and the rest of the ground will be looking at it. Presume Villa will come up with other wheezes to take up the space as well!

you admitted what I couldnt , i thought about 16 , but I just cant count

I think it was 16 as I read 4 more rows added. It will look like more though with the slightly steeper angle of the terrace once re-cast.

It's at the north end of the ground.
