So do we know if, when and how the extra seating capacity is going to come about? As far as I know there haven’t been any recent planning applications so what is intended can’t mean anything that requires planning. I’ve seen that 900 ST holders will be moved, presumably to accommodate additional GA+ seats. I’ve seen the CGI of potential changes in the Witton Executive Boxes and the photo above indicates some work going on in the North Stand. However, none of those things increase capacity and I’ve not seen anything that indicates where we are going to get 2000-3000 additional seats that Heck talked about with his ‘seating optimisation’ study at the last FAB meeting. Where is the space? Are they going to make the seating narrower to fit more in? I can’t see that happening given the seats are small enough as they are. I don’t think rail seating enhances capacity at all as rail seats tend to take up the same space as a normal seat. That magnitude of additional capacity is effectively two additional rows all the way around the ground. Does anyone know anymore or is there something in another thread.

Will we be changing the name of the thread to 'Adidas Arena Redevelopment'?

People are justifiably pissed off about cancelling the north stand (not building a new 60k stadium) but a missing “2000” extra seats in the current stadium doesn’t reflect well on what went before.

Seats being removed in the Upper Holte.

Can rail seating be in stalled in the upper parts of the stadium?

Yes it can but I’m sure it’s not allowed to be used to increase capacity as the statement implied.

I can't believe this is the extent of their vision for Villa Park.

Some work underway in the upper North

They should have been tearing the whole thing down in a couple of weeks...

If they’re ripping those boxes out to put seating in, it’s a hell of a job to accomplish in a three month close season. Have they contracted Nick Knowles and his mates?

Well at least they've got cracking asap. And Dave Grohl will just have to perform in a scaffold-friendly arena.

If they replicate this in T1 like they have here in T5, then that’s my seat gone 😢. Unless it is just new seats.
