I like him again now:

villareport
@villareport
Chris Wilder: “Brilliant club, fabulous supporters. I went to watch them against Derby, was late and got caught up entering with Villa fans. I think they are a brilliant club, they are huge and I think only people in football realise how big they are.” [
@SufcLive
] #avfc

Wilder: “Delighted for Dean and Jack for them to be in the Premier League with their home town club. I hope Jack Grealish doesn't play (tomorrow), have another day off Jack and return at the weekend because I think he is the best player in England.” #avfc

Ha ha yes we are a fickle bunch 😀.   I heard him on sky he sounds quite relaxed and jovial as if there is not the pressure anymore,  they play with nothing to lose , could be dangerous

A bit of tongue in cheek DS Villa speak v more accurate assessment....
1) Fit and raring to go = will probably miss the next 2 games.
2) will be out for next game maybe but, should be available the match after that = out for at least 4/6 weeks.
3) in full contact training = still out for at least another 3 months.
4) back training on the grass = still about 6 months from being available.
5) edging ever closer to a return = look again in about one years time.
6) a lot of work to be done = will probably never play again.
Unless you other good people have anymore to add!!

I reckon we'll absolutely batter these mugs, 4-0. They looked gone last night, their heart isn't in it any more, can see them getting some humpings between now and the end of the season.

And I for one won't be shedding my snowflake, leftie tears for Chris.

Genuine question, what is this in reference to?

Did Wilder have a go at lefties and snowflakes?
The quote I heard was "I don't listen to lefties and do gooders" It that's true I'm diametrically opposed to his political views. However I think politics should be kept out of football and I've always thought he sounds a decent bloke. He also speaks very highly of our beloved club so I'll let him off this time.

I always thought highly of him until I saw those comments, but now I've heard what he said earlier about the club, manager and Jack I've changed again, largely because I'm a fickle, shallow bastard.

A win tomorrow and we're in with the top pack; anything less and we're down with the midtable strugglers. Credit to Dean, he has got everybody putting in the effort, now we need to see the flair. Time to put in a really strong performance and the 3 points. We're good enough but we hopefully now rested and with a strong enough squad can step it up a level or two.

That said, it will be the hard work that starts the ball rolling..

I would go with

Martinez

Targett
Mings
Konsa
Elmo

Nakamba
Sanson
Ramsey

El Ghazi
Watkins
Traore

Rest McGinn so he can be fit for Saturday.

Don’t want to jinx this one with a prediction, but on paper you’d have to go for a Villa win. Hopefully they remember to switch Hawkeye or whatever it’s called on. I don’t mind the blades so won’t say FTFYF

I would be tempted to bring in Luiz for Ramsey but happy with that line up.

I think it would be a mistake to drop McGinn with Grealish already out the team needs his leadership on the pitch.

Don’t think I’d drop McGinn for this one, not sure Sanson is ready for a full PL match yet. Otherwise agree with this

Me too.  No way Smith will drop McGinn.
