Glenn Roeder - RIP

He was at the club for a short period of time as part of Houllier's staff, but sad to hear Glenn Roeder has passed away aged 65.

That's sad news. I remember the meltdown from some when he was appointed (as a scout was it?) at Villa.

I think it was in an advisory capacity more than anything else. To assist with player sales and some assistance with recruitment.

It wasn't even that. He was doing some scouting upcoming opponents; it remains the most hysterical over-reaction in H&V history.

I have absolutely no recollection of him being mentioned with any connection to Villa.

I’ve just mentioned he’s passed away and my wife asked who he was and I’ve just said the exact same thing “he was one of the good guys” came across as a really decent bloke. RIP Glenn

From Don Hutchison on Twitter (spelling all his):

"Ile never ever forget when my dad was passing away. The gaffa told me to get in my car to Newcastle and go see him quick.
Glenn was on the phone with me for all 5 hours of my journey! Sleep well gaffa.
My thoughts are with his family x!

Really sad news. Remember him playing for QPR and Newcastle, decent player. Like others have said, seemed to be one of the good guys. RIP Glenn.

Sad news indeed, a very decent player in that QPR side of the early 80's too.
