Excellent performance, nobody has kept Dirty Leeds that quiet all season.

Only downside is that we're not able to keep the ball well enough when we get it.

Yes, our ball retention was absolutely woeful. I thought everybody would be going mad about it on here, but people often judge performances by results. We defended brilliantly but were terrible when we had the ball. And I’m no goldie.

Trezeguet did well when he was on just dribbling up the pitch getting it away from our box, in injury time I thought he’d been dispossessed at least three times but he still managed to get past the Leeds challenges and towards the corner flag.

Great tactics from Dean yesterday as he intimated in his post match, press high to create the opps in the first half, low block defending second half (park the bus if you like) with minimal possession to snuff out their attacking threat.

Other thoughts....

Has Bamford got out of Konsas pocket yet? Raphina had to swap sides as he got nowt out of Elmo. They should be fined for that pitch or at least get their money back from the charlatan who sold them it. Thoughts and prayers to Lorente at this difficult time.

The state of leeds fans in the guardian comments section. They're a unique bunch alright, really showing themselves up.

You are right but I guess that the boys are getting some leeway because we kept a very dangerous Leeds team quiet. We do need to control games more and have sustained periods of possession but yesterday was one of those days where we had to grind it out.

If we are saying the same thing after the Sheff Utd game when they are bound for the Championship, confidence is shot and they have multiple injuries then that would be a different matter.

And their pitch, fuck me, it’s appropriate in a way as it’s worthy of that shithole of a stadium it’s located in.

Their ground did look very dilapidated on MOTD. Aside from the East Stand it looks like something out of The Championship or upper League One.

Which is what it will be within a couple of years.

It's been like that for 30 odd years. Elland Road is absolutely shite.

we've been beyond bad at times over the past ten years but the ground has always looked good - Elland Road's a hovel.

What are the corporate facilities like? Didn't a H&V high-flyer (Risso maybe?) experience them recently?

I like the fact that neither of these teams "do" draws so anyone who predicted that is a silly billy.

On the pitch....as we have no fans in surely it would be safer (sure Southampton would concur!) to move their home games to a stadium with a fit for purpose pitch??

The only difference being Leeds will be able to use all four stands when fans return.

Sad news about Peter Lorimer.  Even couched in the language of "battling a long term illness", the fact that he is in a hospice doesn't sound optimistic.

As someone childhood was in the 60s and 70s, it is inevitable that those first footballers that entered my consciousness are now reaching the end of their lives.  However, the last twelve months seem to have been quite disproportionate on that Leeds team.
