Okolie last night was excellent. Will be interesting to see how he fares when comes up against someone of a similar height, because that and his reach allowed him to totally dominate Glawocki. Given his stated intent is to unify at cruiser and then move up to heavy, could see a UK heavyweight champion of the world for quite a while...

If Okolie can keep that sort of handspeed at heavyweight, then he'd be a very tricky opponent for anyone.

Despite the withdrawal this is a decent card.

With Dennis McCann looking promising.

Oh dear! https://www.bbc.com/sport/boxing/56545873

I blame Mayweather giving McGregor the honour of sharing the same ring. I don't want to sound like a sad old purist, but it devalues the sport. All this nonsense about Holyfield-Tyson III. Plus the social media arseholes like Logan/Jake/Paul Paul (whatever their fucking names are) getting involved.

Boxing has always been a little bit pantomime, going back 100+ years, but there are plenty of great boxers around. Maybe the answer is to put good cards on free-to-air TV rather than engineering novelty fights, having the cheek to charge PPV prices for them, and expecting casual viewers to say '55 year old Roy Jones vs Eamon Holmes was a good laugh, maybe I'll start following this boxing lark'.

Based on Roy's exhibition fight against Tyson, I think this would be a split decision!

Ok who's going to win the big fight?, I'm going, without any confidence, for a Whyte win 9th round.

I have absolutely no idea. A KO like the one last time can change a fighter's whole outlook.

It'll be really interesting to see how Whyte comes out - if he tries to be patient, measured and settle into the fight then that could turn into gun-shyness. If he comes out looking to dominate then he could end up trying too hard and either leaving himself open or burning out early.

I've got a couple of quid on Povetkin. He needn't bother getting changed.

Nathan Gorman's just put his opponent down three times in the first round.

And twice in the first thirty seconds of round two.
