cash is getting a lot of ball  but then he has found himself isolated.
Gazi is really really ring rusty.
Which is probably why he is being played tonight. So he is not ring rusty when we need him.

In terms of chances of note, maybe, as we've come closest. In terms of play, we've been rank second best.

Usual big overreaction from some. Not been great bu5 we’ve played 5 games in two weeks - we look a bit leggy. Agree that AEG has been poor.

Hope that was not our good half
Number of players off the pace across the pitch, letting them boss the game.
El Ghazi, Barkley ,ineffective.
Lingard, who I did not fancy looking very capable of scoring.
Mix it up Dean and have a bit more in the 3nd half

AEG has been poor, not really involved and has lost the ball the few times he has had it.

Still 0-0 so you’d hope things can only get better in the second half.
I don’t want to be a boo boy but Barkley infuriates me.

It’s a bit harsh because he’s by no means alone in having a poor half but he’s turned into opposition players on numerous occasions, conceded possession, given the ball away and been wasteful when in good positions.

I think it’s because we know he’s a much better player than he so often shows. I thought the same on Saturday so hopefully he can score again!

Yes. We had the better chances.

Well second best for the majority of that half. Need to quicken up and make our passing and movement sharper. On the odd occasions we have put it together we have pulled them around but generally it has been too slow and ponderous and let them get onto us.

El ghazi poor regardless of anything, Barkley not putting a shift in meaning McGinn is plugging gaps rather than getting forward.
Come on Villa

Sorry mate but that’s no excuse.
Smith keeps teeing us the players are fine. One excuse he will never be able to use is the tired excuse.

We have been poor on the whole. AEG was atrocious. Lingard has been excellent for them,  taking up some good positions between the lines and using the ball well. That is what I would like Barkley to do, but he continues to flatter to deceive as he has done for much of his career.

Surely, he has to introduce the new lad and also replace AEG sooner rather than later. If we up it slightly we can win this as West ham are solid rather than spectacular. However, my money is on a draw.

A lot of harsh comments on here.

Id say West ham slightly shading it but weve had decent chances. Do agree about El Ghazi not putting in the effort though.
