Anyone got a clip of the Hause challenge? Missed that one.

Genuinely thought he went for the ball with his studs, was a bit late and caught the Albion player instead.  I personally wasn't sure about Livermore's being upgraded to red, though it did look particularly bad from the one angle.

We are 220/1 to be relegated. Worth a £5 cover bet.

The Livermore one was a red all day. The Hause one was a yellow but atleast gives them something to claim a moral victory about.

I thought Livermore's would get upgraded once it went to the review and I thought Hause was in serious trouble too had the same thing applied. Having said that the rest of the game was a glorified trainings session on attack against defence.

Olbiyun showed absolutely nothing and if we have an easier top flight derby game this century I'll be amazed.  If I supported them I'd be pretty pissed off with that performance.  We were wasteful but did more than enough to see these off. Everybody played well without really needing to go through the gears. As routine as win as you'll see.  Shout out to Traore and AEG who both have had question marks but looked really lively again tonight.

Livermore's was out of control, Hause mistimed a caught the player. One was a red and the other a yellow, all day long. If you think otherwise you're pretty clueless.

Sandwell were lucky to get nil.

They really were. Worst team we've faced in god knows how many years - including friendlies. Delighted with the 3 points, the effort, the goals but how poor were the Baggies? Still, more important it was a big confidence boost for some of our squad players. Just what they needed and good to see the unity of the squad with the celebration of the goals. Can't be easy for El Ghazi, Traore and Hause coming in after such few minutes, they'll appreciate the game time and it will only make us stronger.

Overall we never really got more than 3rd gear but then we never had to. Burnley they ain't. They'll be lucky not to break the record for least number of points in PL history. We also have lots of work to do.. if we want to finish in the Top 6. Today may just help us as we 'strengthen' the squad, not with recruitment but experience.

Oh and how much do I love Matty Cash. A true 110%er. Worth every penny. Almost as good as this.

Unfortunately I think Sheff Utd being in the same division this year will mean they won't be picking up that record. They could be lucky to beat our points tally when we finally stopped circling and dropped.

Edit: As for the link,  I only read through the first page but only one slight moan about Hause and pretty much stating Livermore is an arse and they are shit. Not even a "dive" mention which is surprising.

Fat Sam tonight.

I hope he's on a decent wage as his bonus for keeping them up is right up there with me scoring the winner for Villa at this seasons FA Cup Final. In fact, I fancy my chances more.

I think McClaren will be upset that Allardyce took the Destroy and Exit contract this time.

I was irrationally nervous at 1-0 with 15 to go, considering how dominant we were. Just hard to shake off the villa of recent years, who would of let a soft equaliser in against the run of play.
We were so dominant all over the field from start to end, it didn’t end up feeling like a derby. Everyone had a good game, and as has been said the wingers were impressive, but I thought McGinn, was superb.
The only disappointment is the decision to disallow Watkins goal. He wasn’t ahead of the defender even with all the stupid lines, he was level at worse, and unless the rules have completely changed, level is on side. He played well tonight, but you can see through his body language that he needs a goal now, positively he still keeps getting in good positions.
Great win though and we are looking so good.

We are playing very well now for a number of weeks.

Martinez 7, Cash 7, Hause 7, Mings 7, Targett 7, Luiz 8, McGinn 7, Traore 9, AEG 8, Jack 9, Watkins 6

Had to chuckle at this. You're usually a hard marker but give Traore a 9! I guess a cheeky goal and an assist covers a multitude of sins (underhit passes, failure to beat a defender on his right at any time etc.) ;D

On Livermore and Hause I think the difference was height, the former made contact with his leg, latter with his foot. That's a big difference when it comes to the control of the tackle.
