Doesn't top 92/93 for me, but we were a busy, enterprising team and I recall a few neutrals/ Citeh fans I knew tipping us for the league after this season.

There was a sense with BFR that some players probably signed due to his reputation alone.

Little never had that pull in the management stakes but still put together one of the most entertaining sides I've seen in my lifetime.

Chancing a plodding Crystal Palace midfielder at centre half and choosing Yorke over Saunders took balls.

Just wish Draper had continued as he started. Did we ever find out what happened there?

Probably a more 'complete' season and some real quality players that were a joy to watch, but for those of us who didn't witness the league title win in 1981, I still think the excitement of being genuine title contenders in 89/90 and 92/93 would maybe just top it even though we finished empty handed in both seasons.

1992/93 was the last season I lived in the UK, emigrated in Nov 1993. That season stands out for me as I went to as many games as I could.
Of course it couldn't beat 1974/75, 1976/77, 1980/81 or 1981/82 all brilliant years to support Villa.

My favourite kit, my favourite team. There was an effervescence about villa in 1995-96 (that was missing in 1996-97 for some reason, I can remember 1996-97 being a season where you would groan a bit in frustration that we hadn't kicked on).

What happened to Draper?

First year I had a season ticket, although on holiday for the first match. Never seen us beat them in the league in person! Good times.
