Incidentally, lots has been made of how much money we've spent over the years with little to show for it - but Leicester's strike force of Slimani, Perez and Iheanacho cost just under £90m and didn't really look like they knew what a goal was.

Slightly off at a tangent. Saw recently that Klopp's nett spend over the time he has been there was about £100m, which I thought was pretty good for the team he has assembled.

The wage bill must be horrendous though.

Good grief, that’s a lot of anger for so early in the morning?

Isn’t it obvious, we are upsetting the media darlings by daring to infiltrate the top table at the moment. Hence the negative Murphy comments et al - Take a chill pill.

I work in the media. I can confirm that nobody cares about us one way or the other. If we do well, it's a welcome change. If we do badly, it's mildly amusing. There is no agenda.

Bloody haters in the media.

F365 Winners and Losers

Quote
Premier League winners and losers begins with the only team with a 100% record…

Winners
Aston Villa

The only team in England with a 100% record intact. One of only two teams in Europe’s top five leagues to have an unblemished record. Three top-half teams from last season dispatched, including the runaway champions. The joint-best attack in the Premier League by goals per game. The best defence too. The ability to both swat teams aside in a blur of counter-attacking swagger (Liverpool) and grind out results in uncompromising spectacles (Sheffield United and Leicester City). New signings adding the necessary sprinkling of extra quality to cause a shift in competition for places.

I don’t know what’s happening at Aston Villa. I don’t know how long it lasts. But it should be celebrated by those of us who watch the Premier League without tribalist loyalty. There are no hidden tricks here. This is a club that has thrown its weight behind Dean Smith, learned from the transfer market mistakes of last summer and engineered one of the most impressive starts to a season in Premier League history.

Well this is getting a bit weird now. I don't think we're going down though.

Win the next two and we're already halfway to last season's total.

That was not a game for neutrals it has to be said, but it was a great watch as a Villa fan wasn't it? Solid, the best player on the park was ours, gave as good as we got and scored a great goal involving passing the ball about, runs and skill, topped off with a brilliant finish.

Coutinho being sold for between 100-140 mill and at least 7 of his key squad being there before he started is the main reason it looks reasonable.

That Slimani doesn't exactly suit his name from where I was watching.

Another superb performance last night. What a team, they were all excellent. Defensively, our shape is really good, with players slotting in all over the field. I think our athleticism is going to do for a lot of teams as well. It was pretty even last night for long stretches, but the more it went on the more it looked like, if anyone was going to score, it was going to be us. Spaces began to open up in the last 15-20. Being able to bring on a player of the quality of Traore helps that as well.

We won't fear anyone this season. UTV!

Plus the amount they get for their fringe players.

Danny Ward, Jordan Ibe, Dominic Solanke, Rhian Brewster and Mahmadou Sakho - £100m of incoming transfer fees.

On the BBC sports page Villa's away win at one of last year's top sides and continuation of the only 100% record in UK leagues is the 14th story!  Can't help thinking thAt whilst it's annoying the longer we can stay below the radar the bettee.
