This is the side of Davis that drives me bonkers. Poor first touch, not putting away a guilt edge chance, and generally not looking up for it. I know the whole team is flat, but relying on Davis if Watkins is out for any length of time would be asking for trouble. Go get King for £10m or another striker on loan from somewhere is needed.

We’ve been utter Blues and yet have created the better chances. If Dean doesn’t change this he obviously isn’t interested.

Agreed, Keinan has been as poor today as he was good last week.

How many times does Taylor receive the ball and instantly looks to pass it backwards

In his defence he's got El Ghazi in front of him. I actually didn't think he was half as negative as Lansbury. He makes Ray Wilkins (RIP) look like an attacking midfielder.

Only managed to watch the last 20 mins of the half, but a couple of observations.

We should thank every god there is that we survived last season, because this would pretty much be our team in the championship.

Hause looks and plays like a blundering monstrosity, who still hasn’t leaned to pass to a villa player.

And Lansbury is a fucking abomination of a footballer.

Other than that, all good !

Ivos half-time summary (for those not coughing up £10 to watch on the Caraboa website)

Steer - reassuring, despite the man-bun

Gilbert - great cross for Lansbury to head wide, looked suspect defensively
Elmohamady - always 7/10
Hause - defensively sound but consistently passes to the opposition
Taylor - defensively sound too but a fish out of water over the half-way line

Nakamba - looked bright and lively
Lansbury - dreadful
Ramsey - our best player in the first half

El Ghazi - infuriating
Davis - disappointing so far
Traore - struggled to see much of the ball

Overall, sluggish in possession, too many touches leading to too many backwards and sideways passes.

We're playing  too many short passes to players who are tightly marked, Stoke are defending in numbers  down the middle - need to go wide.
We've been trying to force the play and too many passes are going astray.

We need more movement and impetus, it's all too slow, pedestrian and predictable.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. They went with Wesley on his own last year. I think he’s going to go with what we have and Traoré through the middle I’m case of nerds must.

Davis in open-goal miss shocker.

I was quite shocked to see him anywhere near the ball so close to goal, mind.

If we ever find ourselves relying on him to provide goals, we're fucked.

He makes Heskey look like Gerd Muller.

Well that was wank Villa. Shocking display. Lansbury and Davis guilty of missing sitters. I've defended Davis to the hilt on here and in the real world. Right now he's making me look like a piss poor judge of a player.

We're not stretching the pitch and Stoke back 3 enough.

Perfectly summed up, Ivo though you've been very kind to Traore.

I was going to say that this is a performance more akin to what we were seeing last season
