In my case it's right. Him, Mac, Percy or Si Page. Stone me what a life.

Ray Graydon did a great job there.

I'd go there now and then when he was manager. Wolfie would be there sometimes. Is it still a good Balti pie ?

I'm long time ex-schoolmates with the lad who used to put together their Blazing Saddlers fanzine, so as an extension to our regular footy in the early to mid 90s on Oak Park, Bescot, Pelsall Common or the Arboretum I turned out for the fanzine team against visiting fanzines - Bristol Rovers, Plymouth, Shrewsbury, etc.  Good fun (banter, as the kids call it now) interloping, especially in near full Villa goalkeeping garb.  We got a deal off the Highgate Brewery for a kit which involved a few snaps for the E&S & then being locked in the tasting room for a night.

We'd play on a Saturday morning at Pelsall School, Manor Farm or Oak Park, put a spread on in the Free Trade Pelsall or The Wheel Walsall Wood then 3 or 4 of us would hot foot to Villa Park for a 1500 kick off.

Probably wouldn't happen now.

Eight previous Walsall managers have had Villa connections, either on the playing books or manager/training staff.

Dean Smith obviously, and as already mentioned Graydon, Nicholl, Merson.

Of the other four, I reckon there are people on here who could get two of the fairly difficult ones without having to look it up. The other two are admittedly very distant and obscure.

Didn’t Richard Money coach at Villa?

Seem to remember sometime when we were looking for a new manager & Sean O’Driscoll’s name was mentioned as a Villa fan??

Bill Moore is right of course, trainer when we won the cup in 1957.
Didn't realise that Richard Money had been a youth coach for us and spot on with Major Frank Buckley which I missed.

That means there are in fact a total of 10 Walsall managers who have been employed with us in some way. Dean Smith, Nicholl, Graydon, Merson, Moore, Buckley, Money.

Three to get.
