poor start and hopefully this fixture is being used to keep the fitness up of players we want to move on.

Grealish , very good.
Watkins, Good, but needs to put a chance like the one off the Bar away
Taylor, excellent
Nakamba, great work rate

Everyone else , average or poor
What about Ramsay? He hasn’t done badly. The only part of our midfield that’s totally dysfunctional is Henri..... absolute waste of a shirt

We were ordinary for the first bit but improved well after that.  Watkins has done well, Grealish is at the heart of everything and has got good support from Taylor.  Ramsey has buzzed around with energy and commitment albeit without producing much.  Central midfield are anonymous and Nakamba hasn't had a great game.  He had the ball nicked off him just after we equalised that almost led to Burton going in front again.

Lansbury just doesn’t care enough about football. He’s a poor mans David Bentley

Peddled away on my exercise bike, watching 40 mins of mostly garbage.

Get off to go for a shower and miss the goal and another decent chance  ::)

Lansbury is a slice, not a loaf.

Not really noticed him in the Game.

Lansbury is a complete waste. think we'd struggle to move him on

What a shambles!

Not great but the No. 9 is clearly offside and right in front of Nyland
I've just seen the replay: you're totally right. Poor linesmanning, and the vacuous expert summarisers didn't pick it up either.
Well done, you!

I'm struggling to work out what Dean Smith's thinking is regarding the fringe players he has out.  With the exception of Ramsey, who is doing fine, he knows exactly what the others bring or don't bring to the team.  It's the first game of the season and surely he should be working on match fitness for his preferred line-up and not giving opportunities to players who, for the most part won't get a look in.
Agreed Dave. It seems nowadays it's almost obligatory to use squad players in the cup but at this stage in the season and particularly as we did not play this weekend gone and  play our first league match in 6 days it's a nonsense approach IMO.

Nail on the head. Villa are his meal ticket to retirement.

Ramsey has looked good, better than Lansbury. We will win this but that first half was hard to watch, we can not break teams down
