I wonder if he realises he's returned from Ballbagspor as the Messiah and new lethal striker.

I for one hope he's broken free of the routine of 9 games loping around the pitch doing absolutely fuck all for every 1 decent performance.

I know his style is languid, but he takes it to an extreme sometimes.

It's the old cliche, but if was consistently as brilliant as we've seen him be, he wouldn't be playing for us.

He averaged an assist or goal every three games in his first season with us then barely played in his 2nd. I think '9 games doing fuck all' is demonstrably harsh!

I like him too, I think I have a bit of a soft spot for most of the 'lockdown season' team because they played the best attacking football I'd seen from a Villa side for yonks. Grealish was a big reason for that of course but the likes of Traore and El Ghazi more than played their part.

I think he looked ok in a couple of cameos under Gerrard at the back end of last season, especially given he'd been out for a long time. It's a sensible decision to bring him back and keep our powder dry ahead of the summer. I'm sure he'll contribute under this manager.

He's our attacker with the highest ceiling, bar probably Coutinho. Worth a look and shouldn't have been loaned out to begin with.

I was surprised to learn Bert is still only 27.  It seems like he's been around for ages.  He must have plenty left in the tank, surely?

Without speaking directly to a physio we can't be certain (just in case anyone feels the need to demand proof) but all the local journos are saying he's still injured but will be back in a week or 2, I'm sure Emery will give an update tomorrow though, he's been pretty open about injuries so far.

Always viewed him as a lazy player who if the ball wasn't at his feet he lost interest. No doubting his skill but to me the drive was absent. Interesting to see hoe he goeswith a top manager to work with him.

Traore isn't anywhere near a CF in the real sense and I'm sure Emery is aware of that. For what it's worth neither do I think Watkins is even though he is a striker.  One that works extremely hard off the ball. Now, if it can be instilled into Traore that he has to work like Watkins and add that to his maverick skills we might solve a problem and pose different problems for teams not least our own but it might be worth it.
