I'd rather trust Tanswell than some tosser making up shite on Facebook. Martínez wanted out and was a loudmouth about it to his teammates for over 6 months, the cartoon-looking Dibu gimp.

Ha true, he was probably spawned into being under a pictures of a full and empty House of Commons with the caption 'makes you think'.

I agree with PaulWinch and Smithy.   Im not too worried - he clearly though he was off - and clearly has affection for the club.  The whole window was horrible due to SCR/FFP and created false preasures for everyone at the club.

Hes has enough credit in the bank, and hes one of the best GK in the world.  Hope he has a great season and helps us get back into the UCL and lift silverware.

Not to mention: 'The Last Honest Man to Enter Parliament' above a picture of Guy Fawkes.

Oh god I hate that one. Quite apart from anything, do they think he walked through the fucking front door saying 'hi guys, name's Fawkes, here to bomb you'? Like I don't think he was very honest at all.

Asylum seekers in hotels get a food budget of £12.50 per day. Pensioners in hospital get £1.87. Share if you think our old folk deserve more than illegals.

I'm glad it isn't just me that hates that. It's history for people that think signs that say "you don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps!" are funny.

As it happens, Ramsey leaving alleviated all the financial pressure, so we didn't need to sell him.

Not according to Tanswells's article it didn't, although after JJ leaving we didn't sell anyone else. So fuck knows?

It relieved the pressure but didn't free up funds for more.

Basically someone suggesting the senior players were hawked out to go buyers in January and Martinez never wanted to leave but was told in January club wanted him to leave.

Here's a possible imagining of how things hapoened:

It might be that he was told that, depending on the circumstances,  he might have to be sold.

He responded, saying that he was happy to stay (after all, he signed a new contract last August) but was told again he'd be sold for the right offer.

At that point did he decided to take control of matters to try and ensure that he had as much input as possible as to where he ended up?

Which brings us to the "stories"

Emi apparently tried "engineer" a move to ManU
The end of season tears
The transfer window rumours/stories
And finally the end of transfer window shitshow.

Will he move -  when? How much will we get? Will we/can we sign a decent replacement?

Whatever happened - contrition, apologies and reconciliation are going to be required in spades - by all concerned, irrespective of  'guilt' or 'innocence'.

Expect the rumour mill to rumble on.

After reading H&V he knew he was leaving the best club in the world, and would particular miss contributions from such excellent posters as Beard82.

Slight amended

I wouldnt be suprised if the story was along these lines.  Well probably never know - but ultimately hes a Villa player so ill back him.

It relieved the pressure but didn't free up funds for more.

I suspect the 'plan' was the sell Bailey and both Emi's along with fringe players like Moreno, Donk, SIJ, Barrenechea, etc and have £100m+ so we could get Bizot, Guessand and then 2-3 more in the 20-30m range.
