Chevalier looked quite good when we played Lille and he's only 23.

Hang on, who has said that he has asked to leave?

Damian Vidagany's son to Rambo and Bruno's son.  Not that Rambo and Bruno have the same son.  But you know what I mean.
Like Jekyl and Hyde….just the one son and Im now at the whim of teenage football gossip. But its about as close to ‘in the know’ as Ive ever been and ever likely to get, so Ill lord it up thank you very much….and hope its all nonsense as my love for big Emi far outweighs my ego.

If we need a sale for PSR and he is volunteering it is what it is. Better that than a points deduction or selling Bouba for peanuts. Assuming he doesn't go somewhere else in England.

If we have PSR under control and this is an unexpected request to leave it is pretty disappointing as it feels like we are on the cusp of something great only to be set back by a key departure, which is kind of our story for as long as I can remember.

I'm hoping we will make the top 5, renew Bouba, sign Rashford, extend Watkins & Mings, squeeze through PSR somehow and Emi will do an 'I'm not leaving' u-turn. Then we win the league and everyone's happy.

We should change ‘Prepared’ to ‘on the cusp of something’
It suits us better

That works for me.
And me!

Comes with a bit of a reputation.
Apparently he likes Lille girls.

His crying at the end of the game makes it all the more believable. He obviously, at this point, doesn't think he'll be at Villa Park next season. Maybe he can be convinced to change his mind.

^ I think, like several transfer decisions, an awful lot will depend on whether we get CL next season.

Joking apart, there can't be many of our peers who have been talked of as "on the cusp of something" as much as we have, without managing to get past the cusp. For at least 40 years.

Part of me thinks Emery is o.k with this. Would we really be selling him ahead of many others if Unai felt he was one of the untouchables?

Get the feeling within the coach staff they've probably got data that his agility is declining hence some of the soft goals he's let in this season.

We do need to sign a keeper with presence though, can't be doing getting in a Nyland/Olsen who's going to make the backline terrified otherwise we will lose a good ten points over the season.

He's going, regardless of whether we get CL or not.  You don't change agents unless you are leaving, especially as he's only recently signed the new contract to 2029.  We are not giving him another, improved contract at this time, so he's defo going.

Getting the goalkeeper right is so bloody important. Emi has been incredible for us, a real leader. If he leaves we need to replace his quality but also his leadership.

Yeah that's what worries me. I could see us signing a talented player but hard to replace that level off aggressive self-belief that passes on to the other players.

We need to replace two goalkeepers as well.  Not ideal.  As much as Olsen wasn’t that good at least he’s familiar with the place.

I don't care who they are. Once they ask to leave us after we have made them incredibly wealthy (and in his case rescued him from Arsenal's reserves) they become twats.

Ignoring all they have done on the pitch for us?
