Be prepared if Olsen returns to goalkeeping between now and the end of the season. Maybe he even plays against Manchester City today, if so it will only serve to confirm there's a rift that has been somewhat rumoured and that Martinez is already thinking elsewhere as he's clearly off for champions league football.

Honestly, do you have a proper think before you type this stuff?

There's more chance of me starting against Man City today than Olsen.
Who was in goal last game of season at Man City? So he's played there more than you! Though maybe you have played there I don't know! I was only saying.
Anyway that just more speculation than think he'll actually start as Martinez is better but if there's any issue after the comments or that in training there was a rift then Olsen is number 2.

Olsen was in goal because Martinez had a knee injury.

Exactly ahead of paulinewalnuts! So Olsen would be selected more likely than Paulinewalnuts today too.
So doesn't make sense if someone actually thinks they would start in goal ahead of Olsen!

Why now rather than at the end of the season is the only question I have on Martinez.

Because the interview with France Football was now rather than at the end of the season.

Pauliewalnuts had a hamstring injury.

I think he'd been to Dublin the weekend before.

Also, Olsen is a better person than me.

I don’t know what you’re all worried about. Footy says we’re going to win because we lost last week.

Although of course Man City are going to win because they lost last week as well.

So it should be a great game!

One of the plus points we've got at the moment is that we can point to Martinez when trying to sign other world class players. When Martinez is insinuating that we're not advanced enough for him, and issues a thinly-veiled "come and get me" statement, it doesn't scream of an ambitious club.
Agreed, but at the same time where was Martinez in his career-path before we brought him,, and what did he win when he was a Villa player?
These are marketable factors when looking to bring in new players, but it does require a top-level Sporting Director and much more forward-planning re player-acquisition than appears to be the case currently.

The challenge with our signings has been a - they’re mostly shit, and b - there is no real strategy or plan behind them.  You see teams like Leicester Brentford and Brighton achieve this
But since Joe left there has been no plan.
Born out by the three random signings of Buendia Bailey Ings.
Nope. Bundia was bought in to play in a Grealish-Villa team. Bailey - I'm guessing - had been scouted and targeted as a a winger that would either complement or switch with Buendia / Grealish and offer the opposition something else to think about (hmmm!).
Ings - granted - was a kneejerk from Purslow in the wake of JG's departure.

Olsen was in goal because Martinez had a knee injury.
I'd be amazed if Olsen plays for Villa again.

If he wants to go and anyone else for that matter I’ll thank him and wish him well but we’ll move on. We won’t get a replacement as good as him but I’d like to think another area of the team will be vastly improved instead.

It didn't work out that way when we sold Grealish.

Correct.

Also, he will go, BTW. When he wanted to stay he came our and said that, was a couple years ago I think. These latest comments say he will look to move at the end of the season.

Since Emery came in, I've had a sneaking suspicion that he will go.
Since Martinez won the World Cup, I've also had a sneaking suspicion he will want Champions league football level and that's now been confirmed.
Put all those issues together and there's only one outcome.

Are you Lee Hendrie?

All the "like I say", "As I said", "I told you so", sound very Hendrie-ish...
