As much as I love Emi as our and Argentina goalkeeper and leader I think its only a good thing for football that antics at shootouts will be scrutineered and that such non sporting behaviour stopped.

Such behaviour is clearly not in touch with the spirit of the game and thats clear with the reagrd to the IFAB clamping down and BANNING such antics.
The actual rules of the game are being amended to stop it.
So no one can now argue its fine!

Good grief. Please stop.

The above well qualified observers would seem to disagree.

Just trying to play out of a snooker.

Yeh it’s always you and a bunch of irrelevant talking heads in the media. Most Villa fans don’t give a shit or they don’t obsess over it like you do. And I bet every Argentine football fan loves him way more than we do.

Of course they are, they've just earned £20K for  a few hours of training! ;)

Martinez is the rightful captain against Leicester and we have to believes there is a chance for a clean sheet.
Though unofficially, I believe he'll be made captain for the remainder of the season because Emery considers McGinn not to be among his starting eleven as he said today

Martinez is the best choice, and I advocated for that during the summer, but Gerrard made the wrong decision by not selecting a World Cup champion, despite the fact that both he and Young possess the qualities of a captain.
They were all vice, as was Carlos (instead of Mings)
Anyway, I'm hoping Martinez will deliver another masterclass tomorrow without as many needless antics

Vamos Martinez!

I think we have the same opinion on McGinn mate, and of the current first team I think he's probably the least suited to the style of football Emery wants to play long term. But his comments about McGinn being out of the first 11 today were really only to do with the fact that McGinn has come back earlier than expected from an injury and thus isn't completely match fit. I don't think they were intended to convey anything deeper than that. Emery doesn't strike me as the sort of person to make negative comments about players in the press, that was more Gerrard's vibe.
